Just my opinion, but I don’t think a lot of people are holding off on playing vanilla sf4 just so they magically become good at super. I think people are holding off because characters that will make the game enjoyable for them are being added. I really don’t see the point atm dumping more time into something thats going to be pretty drastically altered in the next month, especially when there’s at bare minimum 2 new characters I want to be using.
I know picking up a new character isn’t going to magically make me good, but what it will do is put the game on a level where I aspire to play better because the characters I’m using are fun and enjoyable for me to play. It’s still going to take the same amount of time and dedication, and it isn’t going to happen magically, but if a new character matches your playstyle and makes the game enjoyable for you to play, you’ll learn how to get better with them over time.
I guess my point is that no matter how much timesink you put into current SF4, it’s not gonna prepare you to play an entirely new character for super. That’s why I think a lot of people are holding off.

The point I was trying to make in that interview is that I have seen a decline of players based on the the opinion that they suck at SF4 but when the new charecters are available they will get better. This is not true in all cases. The Idea behind keeping with SF4 now is that those people are missing the basic fundamentles for SF4. They haven’t learned enough or figured out how to excacute but their hopes are that with new members being added to the cast they will suddenly understand. That’s a load of shit. If your still jumping in every time you get a chance and getting punished, you don’t hit your 1 frame links you don’t understand footsies, frame traping, option select then you are just screwing yourself out of valuable practice time. By not competing they are also screwing themselves out of compatition experiance. That goes for any game. It’s important to keep up with your practice to advance yourself as a player. The time you waste wishing is time you could’ve put tword advancing your dream.

I can see both sides of the story to be honest, because when super drops, Im not playing Blanka any more. But at the same time, I’ve been practicing hit confirms with other characters that will play more similarly to Dudley, Makoto, and DeeJay, just so I’m at least a little more comfortable when it comes to SSF4 time, and not just quitting SF4 all together.
But at the same time, there are guys (and girls) out there that think with Super, they will become, well, super good. Without practice, that isn’t going to happen.
Well on to VF5 for me until SSF4 comes out! At least it is a game that I am good at! LOL!
Interview 1 and 2, looks like I still haven’t learned how to talk without using my hands, also we could make an AREAXIII drinking game out of how many time FeniXXX walks past the camera looking sneeky trying to put whatever he stole into his car. LOL!

Im gonna hold a gathering on Sat, id like to cap shit at around 15-20 heads if possible…ooh and i got the bomb chicken to get, its called Broosters in downers grove, it fucking owns every chicken! So PLEASE BRING SOME CASH so we can all chip in and order a fucking slaughter of chicken / ribs. Please send me a PM or call me in advance to give me a heads up so I can keep count. 630-201-3937, i usually just let people play what they want to play…im going to go ahead and say that id like to start it around 4 PM, we will go get the chicken / ribs around 8 PM. I really would like to also add that Id need to go to bed around 1 AM so i can get at least 5 hours of sleep considering ill be getting off work at 11 am that day(coming off a 12 hour shift) so ill be a little tired.
I can testify that Domingo’s love for Broosters is not a marijuana-induced exaggeration but indeed a flavorful chicken with a slightly mexican twist. Their feast deals are very cheap per head, (I remember 10 dollars for a whole chicken+side+garlic toast) so it’s definitely chicago-budget friendly.
As to me heading up by you- I should be there, maybe around 5-6, depending on the rest of the day’s activities.
