I lol’d at the fact that, while looking up videos for Gundam Battle Assault (thanks Xombie 
), I saw that there was, in fact, a Nu Gundam. Watching what it could do, I realized where they got the idea for Nu/v-13. I lol’d even harder.
? (Nu) has 13 next to her name simply because her code name is the thirteenth letter in the Greek alphabet. So without spoiling the story too much, Nu is named that way because she is the thirteenth sample created to extract the power of ‘Blue.’ The predecessing sample is Noel. While the twelfth Greek alphabet is ? (Mu), the word Noel is also holonymous to a period in December - the twelfth month of the year.
At least I don’t hear many people call her “VEE THIRTEEN” or “VERSION THIRTEEN” anymore.
And while Nu’s blades kind of look like ? Gundam’s fin funnels, I don’t think they’re related at all design-wise.
I guess I should’ve said “got their design” instead. I know they’re not supposed to be related, I just thought it was funny that they looked so similar.

If Nu’s swords start shooting beams or link together to become a reflecting shield, I’m calling bullshit and that artist/designer was a gundam fan.
you know i might say i agree with that if they didnt also share the V nu thing. along with the fin funnelers she also has zone of the ender feet, a zaku eye, and a mask. i could come up with more but after that i think its a stretch, at least with my mecha knowledge.
theres alot of mecha and gundam influence in her design that i would say is deliberate.
