Kind of… but I won’t be using it to play fighters.
I need to go on a psn adding rampage.
I have encountered a few problems, and wondering if anyone as any experience that could aid in my solving process.
#1- My 360 stick will occasionally disable turbo and the HK button randomly during matches. In order to mend it, I have to unplug the stick and plug it back in. Lately however, the frequency of this problem has increased. Have tried looking at the interior connections, nothing seems loose at the time of problem. Looking for suggestions at what the problem might be. (afraid its the board)
#2- I recently purchased SF4 for PC, and after a variable amount of minutes of play time at 60fps, the game will then run at 1-10 fps until I close it. If I restart it, the cycle will continue. Similar to problem shown here:http://www.capcom-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21431
I have downloaded that optimization tool, which has only served to prolong the time it takes until the fps crash. Turning all of the graphical settings down does nothing to aid the problem.

Athlon 64 X2 4800
8800 GTS
3GB SDRAM
Any help is appreciated, I am hoping that posting in various places in conjunction with my own research will expedite the troubleshooting.
The last time i’ve ever had a fps problem like that was ages ago. I had the same problem and what I did was install a glide driver. I highly doubt its needed nowadays but it is something you can look into. Lastly check your videocard.
I’ve heard from a couple peeps it heats up like a motherfucker though. Like an hour of use is supposed to get the surface of the slim ps3 hot enough to cook some eggs. Not saying there will be overheat issues with it, but it’s only been out a week so people don’t really know the longterm effects of apparently a smaller fan/cooling unit.
I mean even a pc idiot knows you do not want your graphics card/cpu running at max temp, it’s just asking for problems to happen. But then again, the slim ps2 heats up pretty drastically also and I don’t recall any overheat issues with that system. Time will tell, I suppose.
for the pc one, you have the latest drivers yadda yadda. Defragged recently all the normal stuff?
I assume a glide driver relates to video/graphics. What does it do?
Ive downloaded the newest update for the graphics card. I suppose I could go look for an update to the Motherboard, though I doubt its relevance to the problem
www.nvidia.com click on drivers and go look for your OS and 8800gts.

Well back in day 99-01 glide drivers would help accellerate videocards hence forth vastly improved fps rates. It was a very inexpensive way to vastly improve gameplay in alot of games. That’s why I mentioned probably wouldn’t be your problem they are pretty outdated. You really need to look into videocard because that seems to be the most likely problem area. Checking your drivers is a plus but also check the specs is at the bear min. the game will run or not. That’s one of the main reasons I prefer console. It was way to expensive to stay up to date when gaming on a cpu.
His pc only has one less gig of ram than mine I think it’s just a driver issue really

Sounds like his video cache isn’t clearing itself out from either the gpu ram, or the 3gbs of system ram.
A memory leak.
And that can stem from just about anything software related.
In most instances, (perhaps 3 out of 5) it’s not driver related (although, sometimes it certainly can be).
Usually it’s a fault in the application itself, and how/where it’s being assigned to memory.
(though, with sf, I’m sure the problem would be well documented and acknowledged either within the community or by devs themselves by now, and addressed.)

As for the Turbo/hk button on the 360 te going ass up.

If the frequency of occurance is increasing, just hope you have your receipt and have madcatz honor your warranty.
The only known cure for that shit so far, is either a send-in, or replugging.
gg’s to lee-k, your viper is definitely getting much better. Mix up your throws more, I picked up on them when you kept doing them after the overhead. Start mixing it up once you have someone expecting it. GG’s I’ll play more later if you end up getting back on.

There nothing going on. Like I said before, most of the stuff is happening in the suburbs or other cities, gameworks, gatherings(I think there are a few ppl that host here in the city besides Dark Kakashi), etc. I wouldn’t mind traveling to these places if I had a car and driver license. Gameworks is hella far on public transportation and I am not 21 yet.
J-Money we should have one of those gathering again at DaBeast place or something. I wouldn’t mind having a gathering at my place, only thing is if I can get people to come.

also, would anyone be interesting in a gathering on Saturday? parents would be out of town due to labor day weekend so I could host pretty late. And those that plan on going to Dark Kakashi’s tournament on Sunday can head out from my house. Its a 12 minute drive to his place. Not that far.
