You can tech the throw (if you want, generally that relaunches you if you do it at the wrong time). You can burst after the doll clap. Some characters (hakumen, rachel) can escape.

That guy has a serious freakin’ Carl. He’s got a lot more going on than just the clap loop. If you want to learn Carl or how to play against him, I’d recommend trying to get some games in with TwoCoins.

I’m playing Arakune.
In the matches that I did okay in, I found that if I can keep a curse on him I usually end up getting really close, or even winning the round.
Teching doesn’t sound safe then, but if I burst after the clap, should I move in after him and curse or launch clouds and make him come back to me?
I’m learning that Arakune isn’t too great in a stand up fight, but I can only stay away for so long before getting a negative penalty.
All I know is that from seeing Meta play the briefcase girl in AH his Carl will be beastly.
