But that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to rant about people not knowing what the fuck a subject line is for.
A subject line, a topic title, whatever you want to call it is for describing, briefly, the topic/subject. It isn’t for your tiny little brain to spew what you think is literally gold in the form of a “witty” response to the topic at hand.
Anytime are make a topic title that sounds anything like the following:
It’s alright, Chun-li. We get it. You’re mad about being mediocre at best in three games back-to-back and long for your glory(hole) days of Third Strike.
Too bad that none of us care and that it’s still no excuse to have such an unhelpful topic line for the reasons that specs outlined. I’ve fixed that issue for now–I’ll let Valaris decide on if he wants this closed or not.
Chess hasn’t been solved yet and has simple rules. A simple competitive game that can become complex is better than a complex game that is even more complex competitively. A low entry barrier and a high competitive barrier gives provides a far larger player base.
As long as the game remains unsolved, I will highly prefer Chess over Chess 2. As it stands, I think the original Chess fits Sirlin’s design philosophy more. Upper level Chess play ends up drawish through the faults of the players. The average home computer(with a dedicated chess program) can beat Grandmasters more often without drawing. It hasn’t been proven that chess is inherently a drawn game.
Chess play has far evolved past it’s early days and the Grandmasters of today would crush the grandmasters that played 100 or hell even fifty years ago.
EDIT: A game that continues to evolve still has competitive value even within the boundaries of simple rules is a good game and better than more complex variations.
No one gives a shit what it stands for. You’re right Join Date doesn’t matter, anyone is capable of making a stupid as fuck thread. This thread is a perfect example.
