no offense to anyone with dunks, but am i the only one who thinks they’re getting way out of hand and played out? i still like them and all, but it seems like everyone is wearing them lately everywhere i go. the saddest thing happened the other day where a total nerd i’ve known for a while all of a sudden was into dunks, asking me about pigeons and all this shit. really made me want to get out of the dunk game and move on to something a little more original.
to me no…but its getting kinda …not lame but…just too much to have the same shoe in different colors and materials. i need to expand and thats what i’m trying to do. i don’t have a variety of stuff. i’m working on that though.

The hypebeast trend got real popular real fast. Everyone from ages 10 on up in Cali is on to it. Especially asians. The style/clothing is pretty fly, it’s just wayyyyyyyyy too common.
not as common as jordans though. if you rock jordans or af1s then you shouldn’t complain about dunk sb’s being popular…hardly anyone outside of ny, cali, flordia and dc knows what dunk sb’s are. everybody in every state knows what af1’s and jordans are and pretty much everybody rocks them.
you pretty much owe it to the SB line.
I’m surprised sneak heads will still fuck with them too… aint nothing impressive about these De La / Tiffany / Heneken dunks etc. you can see damn near everywhere on the internet.
I meant common as way too much of a fad. Like you said about knowing a nerd who all of a sudden is up on sb’s, I have a friend who’s alllll hypebeasted out. Hangs out with hypebeasts.
Jordan’s and AF1’s imo aren’t fads like sb’s are. Well Jordan’s to an extent. But they’ll always be “in.” They’re iconic.
And white/white low af1’s are the greatest shoe ever made.

the hypebeast look is a fad or whatever but they (the new jacks) don’t have the knowledge of some of the older stuff. i still get questions on if i made my sneakers, or what kind of air force ones are those (when referring to dunk sb’s).
i guarantee you that more ppl that follow fads rock af1s and jordans than dunk sb’s. you’re only noticing dunk sb’s.

look where you post. we post on sites with ppl that have common interests…so you’re going to see the same things you like. its like me saying that fighting games are a fad and everybody is going to evo and joining the empire and all of that. i’m on srk, what do i expect?
most ppl i interact with still have a hard time understanding why i would spend so much on sneakers or why some of my sneakers are worth an expensive car payment.
don’t get me wrong though, there are many fked up things about “the game” right now that i hate…queuing or camping out for every semi decent release only to pay like 240+ in the store for a sneaker thats supposed to retail for 80 or so is not fun…but missing out on it and paying a reseller 250+ isn’t either. i hate all of that shit and its thx to those hypebeasts that buy to sell…but i don’t think that sb’s are really common or anything like that. not at all.
i agree with pretty much everything debs said. air forces are too played out for my taste, but jordans will always have a place in my heart. 3’s, 4’s and 6’s are imo some of the greatest sneaks ever made.
and i still love dunks. i own them and would buy them still, i just hate that since it’s the new in thing to collect them it becomes a little corny. not that being popular makes them lame or anything, just the whole follow the leader mentality that comes along that then causes the prices to sky rocket.
and you gotta remember something about those heinekins, and tiffany’s you see everywhere… they’re more than likely fake. maybe good fake, but still fake. fake sneakers to me are a major no no and yet another problem that is absolutely ruining the game.
