I find that if you cut solely acrylic with the same blade then they can last quite a while. The saw marks still take a fair amount of sanding out, though

That’s a nice clear case, btw. It turned out really clean. What do you use to cement the acrylic?

I used Weld On Acrylic glue I think it was same stuff used on large fish tanks and display cases.

Acrylic doesn’t really agree with sawblades very well.

@ hunter-zero i got it from ebay. the seller was from japan and he never used it lol

So here is my second VSHG stick i got in the mail today too from ebay w/o box. i got four package all arcade sticks. lol plus i have more to come for this week.

I need mod in this one. i swap out the darkhai for white sanwa buttons and yellow to black and white seimitsu start button and removed balltop for bat top.
i went for white buttons b/c kind looks sexy.

Agetec / Dreamcast Stick Mod

This is my first arcade stick mod. In fact, it’s the first time I’ve ever attempted anything practical with electronics, plastic, metal and paint. It was a massive and thoroughly enjoyable learning experience.

I had a Dreamcast stick that had sat in its box for several years, and began using it for SF4 with a Magic Box on my PC earlier this year. After a bit of frustration with the adapter, and feeling that the buttons and stick weren’t quite giving me the consistent moves I thought I was inputting, I decided I would order some Sanwa parts and put in a PlayStation control board.

After reading a bunch of articles and examples of other Agetec mods, I ordered the parts from Lizard Lick and while I waited, tackled the electronics of a PlayStation pad mod. The reason I did the pad mod was that I had ordered a Cthulhu board as part of my parts order, and there would be several weeks until I received it. I intend to use the pad board in my next project.

While waiting for my parts, I also decided I would do a new paint job on the case, which evolved in to filling up the Start button and VMU slot. It then evolved in to adding some graphics to the metal plate.

I am toying with the idea of moving the Cthulhu to an external project box and doing the same with my Playstation pad board, but I’ll leave this for future work as all my current titles are either PS3 or PC.

So here is the result. An Agetec/Dreamcast stick with new paint, new graphics, and all Sanwa parts with a Cthulhu board for USB out.
