Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)

Nice colour scheme and art on the Mayflash, mate. Good job.

My 2nd attempt at stick building. I basically gutted my first and started over with a new case. You can see from the last pic that my depth measurement was off, but I’m going to fix that shortly by making a cap over the hole. I thought it would be cool to do a plexi bottom and even though the wiring is a bit of a mess, I think it’s kind of neat.

mmm… concaves…

wow, nice mayflash!

which buttons did you use for the start/select/home? they look bigger than the radioshack i used on mine. i like that. good looking case!

I had this madcatz fight stick finished for a few weeks. It took me forever to get the walkthrough completed. Compared to the tournament stick, this stick is now comparable. I’m not sure if it is the most cost effective stick but it’s now one of my favorite sticks to use now.

Yeah, I wanted to go old school for my first stick. Sort of a celebratory thing for SF IV and the return of MvC2.

Next up, Sanwa.

so does everyone have routers? is that how you’re getting these nicely routed/beveled edges on your stick boxes?

I was trying to find ways to do it on my 1st stick w/o having to buy a router…but couldnt come up with any ideas.

Practice, sandpaper, files and elbow grease can substitute but a cheap router is probably cheaper.

While mine’s no masterpiece of routing technique, I used Dremel router bits and the router plunger on my case to get the edges started. After that it’s all sandpaper and hard work.

Any easy method is to use multiple layers of thin wood with holes cut out. Say you use a 1/8" top layer with button holes and mounting square drilled out and a 1/4" layer underneath with a larger area under the buttons drilled out and a smaller square drilled to mount the joystick.

Nice guide mate , im looking to mod a SE stick soon and i pretty much knew how to do already but its nice to pick up some extra tips , plus i like all the step by step photos

Thanks

I used the Sanwa Shindin buttons for the mod. it’s 18 mm and I had to dremel the holes out to fit the buttons in. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sweet mod and nice walkthrough. Best SE mod I’ve seen.

By the way, you have the same pic posted twice :xeye:

Thanks. Weird. Fixed.

@ angelrebirth: How difficult was it to mod that stick? I’m looking for a cheap spare stick for the PS3.

OH MY GOD!! THE VF-1!!! :wow:

I SO wish I could rep you Jangofatt! Macross never gets enough love! Props to the stick man! And epic guide!
