How much do you guys think a good custom arcade stick should cost?
the max Iād probably pay is roughly
150: good quality mass produced domestically
250: top quality mass produced if it had to be imported
300+: something custom and unique depending on build/part quality

I think it is very reasonable once you start talking about exotic woods, leds, dual system mods, imp boards, etc to pass the $300 - $350 mark, not only for parts but the giant amount of time that goes into something that custom.
Before I clicked that link I knew exactly which one you were talking about. Iām not a fan of that style (the panel hanging over the near side of the base like that), but that thing was kick ass.
I swear heās not building one right now for me.
My latest.Oak dyed Black and Orange, with a poly mirror finish.Reminds me of tiger stripes,so I threw the art together just to show, but I really ended up liking it.Sanwa jlf Seimitsu buttons,360 pcb.I really love this stick, and really wish I didnāt have to sell it,but I need the money for more parts,so wish me luck

My friend gave me an SE case cause it went to shit and the PCB was fubar.
After a couple weeks, some bad vinyl sticker from .99c Store, bad color matching, a PS1 DS pcb that refuses to work properly on a Pelican converter, but works fine on a Mayflash converter, I have finally finished it.
Sanwa JLF with shaft cover.
2x Seimitsu (hardcore switch version) buttons.
6x Sanwa OBSN-30s
If I can somehow fit in a little box for the cords, I plan on dual modding it (maybe). Also planning on changing the panel and coloring those blue buttons yellow.
souji5, poplar is sexy; my favorite wood.
ā¦sorry that sounded even more homo than I thought. But excellent start. Sweet looking case.
inspiration
All of the sticks on this thead look amazing this has inspired me for my first stick. Cant wait to get the parts in the mail.
Another couple of lovely sticks, Steve. The dovetail joints really add to them. I donāt know my arse from my elbow when it comes to woodworking, though, so making anything like that is way above me.
Did you make that chamfered cube in the background too?
Pandaās fibrglass 2-player stick is really nice and original also. Is it sturdy?
That has to be the best stained poplar stick I have ever seen. Thatās just awesome, it came out nice and even with no blotching and then the grain pattern just tops it off. Terrific work as always!
Very nice stick sir. The color of the stick, buttons, artwork, and balltop work perfectly together. A very nice and clean build, congrats on a great custom!
sexy wood + theme, no homo
I dont know which is sicker bro, your blue or orange stain, man you do some really nice stuff with oak, I know thatās a tough one to get that smooth GREAT JOB!
wHY ThanKS
Thanks so much!! I think my new hobby is going to be poplar hunting
dankster, all the sticks iāve seen of yours look great - where do you usually sell them?
great sticks everyone. now that im done with my first custom stick im itching to start on my 2nd.
especially after checking out some of the new additions here.
Wow,thanks guys.
Souji, that means alot coming from one of the best, and yes,it is hard as F**** to get smooth lol
I appreciate the kind words from everyone.
And rats, thanks,I have done some local and Iāve shipped out one to an srk member via pm so far.I could also do the ebay thing, but I know I still have a bit on the rules b4 i can sell here so Iāve just been taking it slow so far.:wgrin:
Ebays not a bad option to get things rollin for you, i got my first few off there before the six month mark, funny enough to other srk members on ebay
Yeah, that was my original plan, but every time I make a stick it never makes it that far lol, seems like I have them finished for a few hours before someone buys it.
But thanks for the advice,Iāll most likely be taking it soon
