Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)

Hi Kaytrim,

good job!!! Did you manage to prevent the twirling of cables coming out of the joystick?

Bye,

Bencao

Thank you, this was a fun project in the end. Long time build due to the learning curve in programming the chips. The end result was worth it though.

Try looking at them on my photobucket page. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee314/KaytrimsKustoms/Adam/

One word “camouflage” Black background and black wiring. Believe me it is a mess in there.

I never had any problems with the cables. One thing I did is use a heat shrink tubing and 30 awg wire. Even with 4 wires and the tubing the entire bundle was able to fit inside the shaft. I think the heat shrink tubing helps to prevent the twisting. Of all the sticks that I did like this I have yet to hear back about a failure.

Michael

Damn Kaytrim that stick on your blog with the microprocessors is freaking AMAZING.

Did you use PIC processors or what?

Another custom completed. This one is based on Joker and have tried to capture as much of his personality and colour scheme as possible.

Buttons are simply push/lightup LED including stick, NOTHING like Kaytrim’s latest creation :looney: (veryyyyy nice by the way).

Here is my latest creation. Please visit my blog for more information including two short videos. http://www.kaytrimskustoms.com/blog/

Great job on the stick color is sick

B15SDM: Man…every stick you post blows my mind.

Your woodworking is top notch, but your painting and your artwork layout truly separate you from many other builders out there.

Inspiring.

Yes it does use PIC processors, Amtel ATTiny13a chips to be exact.

Another amazing paint job. Thanks for the compliment.

Michael

I’ve been looking forward to making this post for a while

This is my very first custom stick, built from the ground up with a pre-assembled Cthulhu board inside, so it’s completely solderless. My dad helped me build it as he’s very good with this ‘shop class’ sort of stuff. Not too much attention has been paid to detail, as this was just made to see if we could make one of these things that actually worked. There are imperfections all over the place, although you, very conveniently, can’t spot too many of those in the first picture below :looney:

As you can probably see on the second picture, the stick’s a standard LS-32-01 and the buttons are PS-14-GN and DN on the front. I didn’t get a picture of the small ones, as my camera’s shit and drained the batteries after I’d taken just a couple of pictures. I went with a simple look without artwork because I liked the way the ‘Simple poplar’ example on Slagcoin looks. The side panels are actually from an old bed of mine. I finally got me a stick with blue buttons as well :lovin:

Shoddy wiring

And yes, it would seem it needs to be cleaned on the inside, again :clown:

For my next project, I’ll be making an Xbox 360 stick, and try to do the soldering myself…

That worked! Nice job bro! You must have spent gobs of time on that bad boy. Phenomenal results!

Looks spectacular as usual my friend. The stuff you do with the bottom plexi always wow’s me. Also your 24mm button routes are so clean and smooth.

Yea it took a while. Unlike you I don’t have a bunch of robot slaves.

OMG that Joker stick is amazing. I love the glossy green.

dammit boy dat joker stick is sick

Pretty damn good, is nice for my eyes yeah!

I didn’t even notice the goggles until you zoomed in on them in the video and I was like, “What is that? OMG the goggles light up too that’s ridiculous”

Anyways, Amazing stick can’t wait for mine.

How much does that thing weigh?

Looks great, especially for a first stick. I think some very simple artwork with some blue in it would look good though.

That stick looks awesome Kaytrim, I really dig the muted color of it, and as someone else said, you really know how to make that grain pop!

Man your paint jobs are simply a thing of beauty, you have taken painting a stick and made it an art form! Incredible work as always.

@ Naiera => Simple and clean. Nice man

very nice Kaytrim… Now I have to finally get around to finishing my other stick…

This 2 new sticks for my collection are both ascii with optical, blue one is for DC and red and black color that says justice is for ps2.
