I reckon that if I want parts I’ll have to find a specialist. Things like this aren’t so common in the UK. I think it’s because British arcades are fundamentally different to US arcades. I get the feeling that US arcades are more built off the thrill of competetive play, whilst UK arcades are based on personal greed. Most UK arcades are in seaside touristy towns, and are usually different variants of slot machines where the player stands to win money, and games cabinets are usually nowhere to be seen. In newer arcades you might see a DDR machine or a Guitar Hero box, but I’ve never seen a SF cabinet in England. As a result there’s no organised competetive Street Fighter community.
Of course, this could all be a load of horse shit.
Thanks man. It was alot of work but well worth it. That is a japanese box from the guys at QCFgaming. Hit up Luckyday or Satek for a box. They’re really cheap. I got a couple more ideas in the oven that you guys might like
Couple of TEs I finished recently. The art for the first one is based of a template created by x639x so props to him. I thought it would look cool on an all blue case because of the ‘midnight’ theme.
The second one is one I had in my head for a while cuz I wanted a white on white stick, and I wanted to do a doom stick at some point. Also did the cthulhu/imp multi-console mod. shout out to Art for his printing and plexi services- he always does an awesome job, pics can’t do it justice (or at least not with my crappy cam, haha)
Manman, great sticks! What kind of paint did you use on your Akuma? looks real slick. However, I think you should change the white, doesn’t really go with the whole midnight theme. May a red bubbletop to match the raging demon? As for buttons, maybe black rimmed clear cap Seimitsus?
As for the 2nd stick, NICE. Where did you get the all white body? It doesn’t look painted cause I can still see the “Headphone Jack” label… unless you like tried and succeeded in avoiding to paint over those xD I’d say the red top looksnicer, but it’s just me and my love for colored things
The white TE is awesome manman, did you paint those TE screws yourself or did you buy them somewhere? If the latter, let me know where you got them :wonder:
Thanks! On the blue one I used dupli-color tuner blue vinyl dye. I had it because of another stick where I wanted to do a really bold blue, and the color seemed exactly what I was looking for from pics, but turned out WAY darker in person so I used it for this. The white stick is just a modded femme fatale stick, so I didn’t have to paint the body, just the shaft cover kit.
I agree about the buttons though, I wanted to put something else in, but I wasn’t sure what to do yet. I wanted to keep some white cuz the original template had a white moon on the side but you can’t see much of it… I like the contrast so I was thinking maybe white and red or all clear and red 4p/k buttons (red to match the color of the kanji on his back and bring in a contrasting color. The clear buttons with black rim idea sounds good too.
I bought the top screws onine at fastner-express. Here’s the area I got them from: http://www.fastener-express.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=218. The weird thing is, I got the M4 X .7 12mm which should be the same as the stock screws (at least based on a thread where people were discussing it). But when I got them, even though they fit in the whole, the screw head and hex slot are both smaller than stock… kind of weird.
Thanks. If I don’t end up using it for something else maybe I’ll swap back and forth, haha.
