Hey guys I’ll be at SCR later today. I’m in AE pool 5 which starts at 6pm PST(15.5 hours from now), don’t know if my pool will be streamed as the ones running at the same time have bigger names(floe, xsk samurai, jago, etc.) but we shall see.

Hey, does anyone use counterhit cl. mp -> cr. hk a lot? From the frame data, it should only be a one-framer. I started using this recently, and it feels like 3 frames or more. It is literally hard to miss this combo. Am I missing something? I don’t consider myself to have great execution, so it seems strange that this one-framer is so damn easy.

what frame data are you reading? How is this a one framer at all? just looking up on the srk wiki and another frame data site it’s a 3 framer… for CH cs.MP
Counter hit from a Medium gives you +3 Hitstun so it’s a 3 frames link, that’s why it’s so easy to do.
Where is Ves? I see Viscant on, he picked Dee Jay instead of Blanka.

Viscant making it to final 16 with Dee Jay was cool, but wish he’d pick Blanka.
Got 2nd to a Bison player today at a tourney. I really have no idea what to do in that match. Bison out-lames, out-footsies and out-pressures Blanka, and he’s got braindead ways to escape pressure. You really need the knockdown in this match, but that’s easier said than done if you’re just getting lamed out. I’m gonna learn Guile just for this match. Even though it’s definitely winnable, I just don’t enjoy it at all :\
counterpicking that match is extremely smart if you feel you can play Guile well.
I think in Bison vs. Blanka you just have to whiff punish everything and do so by baiting scissors, slide, headstomp, and devil’s reverse as much as possible.
St.roundhouse is such an issue for blanka as his only poke that beats it reliably is st.jab which doesn’t have enough active frames to be used as a proper zoning tool.
Same for me about Bison.
Even with buffs in 2012, Bison is for me one of the worst Blanka’s match ups.
Okizeme on him is so hard, guess on his reversals is really hard, he is a better Blanka.
Guile is just a great great secondary character to have as a Blanka player as he beats Bison, Balrog, and Honda. Dhalsim and Seth are still troublesome.
I think Blanka does fine vs. Sim.
I think blankas worst matchups are Cammy, Makoto, Abel, Sagat, Bison, Fei, Seth, and Honda in no particular order. Possible in that tier of difficulty is Vega/Balrog, but I don’t think Blanka clearly loses to anyone else.
Cammy/Sagat are the big problems right now IMO
