Well, unfortunately, there’s no Chun-li infinite in these vids, Shin couldn’t do it in those matches, but still, you can see some very nice mixups with Tron assist.

Anyway, this can be the first oportunity for a lot of people to see a Chun-li doing something… lol.

EDIT: Sorry… I see just after I posted that Kuwabara had already put these same videos some posts before me…
but no one commented, so I’ll leave my post here also.

Yes. But good luck with this online when Cable guesses on AHVBs.

cable is a god isnt he? isnt this thread about who can beat the gods?

This thread is about who can compete vs the gods, other then top tier. Strider is top tier. Not trying to be a asshole or anything, but I’m trying to keep this discussion on topic. We’re going off a bit, when we start to mention strider/doom vs cable. No offense.

As BeaTs said, rush down characters will give Cable problems.

To me Colossus seems to have the potential to be a threat with the right assist. My main team is Colossus, Blackheart and Spiral. I try to start out the match going into Super Armor and then shoulder ram or super jump while calling out Spiral projectile assist. When his shoulder ram stops or jump ends her knives follow giving him time to recover most attacks to do another ram, jump or if the opponent is hit by the knives(it could just be one knive to hit) Colossus can juggle into air combo to super.

The main key is to gain enough meter to get in super armor mode to be able to counter close up attacks so the Spiral projectile assist can do it’s work. This usually frustrates players that use MSP when in super armor mode Psylocke’s AA won’t juggle. Yeah Colossus will take minimal damage delivering hits but the tradeoff is in his advantage.

What hurts colossus is that he has no instant or relatively quick overhead. So in essence, he is about as tricky as cable to block, minus the gun.

Super armor is awesome, but I have yet to see a way to build that entire meter back up to keep it on all the time. If the player just runs away and doesn’t allow you to keep doing guardstrings on him, then he doesn’t build enough meter. Granted, super armor is still awesome, but limited use.

I think where colosuss excels is assist punishing. His c.rh+assist, shoulder tackle xx one of the supers is good, real real good with tron.

Of course he does damage if he lands a s.rh, and he has a good crossover (like cable) with j.rh. The rh version of his air tackle is damn near unpunishable which is also good and can eat up assists (cap commando anyone?).

I his lack of mobility and lack of tricks makes him a character that is just lacking imo. Gods rape him. At least he has good defense.

@australopitecus

thanks for the vids. really nice to see Chun doing something vs the gods.

He has easily one of the best crossups in the game with his j.hk. it’s really, REALLY good. So ya, definately a slug but when used correctly his j.HK cross up makes up for no quick overhead, since he has a slow but extremely useful one.

I’d say he’s best with storm behind him for a rediculous DHC. Sent works as well with strict timing, but doable.

Might as well add too that his AAA is great, and knocks sents out of the air for free. The angle, priority, range, and damage are all superb.

As for super armor, it’s alright but make sure you can keep your opponent on the ground. Storm’s got no problem what so ever just playing keep away (building meter) while colossus runs out of super armor. He seems to be pretty good against sent though, if they ever HSF you can just super on reaction and DHC for some dirt.

Cable chews up Colossus for breakfast.

my bad. i didnt realize strider was god tier

i did mention ice man

he isn’t. lol*

It’s God tier then top tier.

I’m not sure what ice man can do other then chip. too bad sent attacks chip him along with hail storm. He would be soo much better. :frowning:

okay lately ive been tryin to mix-up my low tier characters.
I like Jill and Juggernaut but i cant think of a low tier character who i feel like fits well.
The other team is Spider-Man,Akuma,______ i used to use iron-man in this team but he’s top 8 so i’d need another low tier to mix in to this team.
what character would u guys recommend for these teams?

I just started playing Colossus, Juggs, and Blackheart online and have seen tremendous success. Colossus with Supa armor is a killer for any rush down, the only problem is when to use the supa armor. If I miss, bye, bye, bye Colossus. Juggs is primarly used for head crush and Blackheart for his aa. Overall, with a little patience, this team will be a beast against top tier.

Im going to say Cyke Mag Tron in that order.

Sakura can compete! People who’ve I played online know ^^ She’s a beast.

Captain america?

can he do it?

i’ve been playin online awhile, haven’t met anyone who could do anything special with him.
even when i try to figure him out (i tried a few times) i cant seem to get any of his specials to link (other then charging star in the corner) or any of his hypers.
I dont really know a good supporting team for him either.

but usually i pick cyclops and psylocke with him.

Well god tier is cable storm sent and magnus so if I had to choose using team dynamics i would say marrow tron. bonerangs can hinder sents flight and she can kind of keep away a bit out of capcoms range, she can rush cable and use tron to snuff cap, storm marrow match up comes down to player mainly who uses the assists better, and marrow can punish psy really bad making the fight with magnus easier. Her major problem is when she gets hit…It hurts…bad…really bad. Sent hitting her = child abuse. If i didnt main ken rogue and storm I would probably main some marrow tron combo until i learn how to block better her margin for error is just too small for me.

 1 hit kill teams are nice, and I’ve seen first hand Colossus scrap with super armor, but how are you putting on point? Unless you’re playing online, a good MSP team would just rush your Colossus down before he can even activate his super at the start of the match and snap his shit, then super jump all day until your super armor runs out.

I’ve seen it happen to on-point-Colossus many, many times :wonder:
