I think Rook’s Dan comic hasta be my overall favorite drawing in this thread. WoW!

Very impressive work, everybody. It’s kind of even tempted my lazy ass to try and draw some SF stuff.
A few questions, though:

I skipped 99.9% of the text because, of course, I was looking at all the pics, but is this just for SFA3 characters? Are there going to be any 3S characters. I’d love to see some Makotos.

Waaay back in the thread there was a cool pic of Sagat leaning out of the shadows with the text, “These scars never heal” or something to that effect. Was that meant to be like Brando at the end of Apocalypse Now? Minus 140 pounds of fat, of course. He even says something like that as he leans out of the shadows, doesn’t he? IMO that only adds to its appeal, though.

Here is my E Honda. It’s not very good. I was going for a Kabuki vibe, but then I drew him too big, so he’s all squished.
Shame on me.
Switcher: nice Sodom.
VSlash: I really like how you did the Dan pic. Colours and grafitti effect just work so well in that one. Honda is cool too, I like the Kabuki references (facepaint, umbrella, pose)
Cpt: welcome back man. Sagat is nice, but the pic is too blurry to really see anything though.
Ron: imposing choice of angle there. nice. Honda’s shadowed nose bothers me though.

Alllright. Here are some comments and critiques.
Star250: Hehe, looks a little rushed. Still cool though. The musculature looks just a bit odd; I think you’re missing the brachialis between the biceps and triceps. Also, I don’t think a tear would run down his face at such an angle.
4neqs: Amusing Dan. Chairperson ownz! I think Dan could stand to be just a little goofier looking.
Bandit: As already mentioned, Honda’s arm is kinda doing a weird thing where it’s going into Dan’s body. I think with the coloring the way it is, colored line art might have worked well for this one.
Switcher: Good lookin Honda, dude. I like both versions, but I think I like the one with lineart just a little bit more. Try to stay a little bit cleaner with your hatching, being careful to try and make the start and end points of each line very deliberate and precise. Right now some of the lines seem to get longer and shorter for no real reason. I like the Sodom a lot too. The shadow behind him kind of confuses me though. The way it is around his whole body makes it look kind of like a dark halo, rather than a cast shadow.
Rook: Sweet ass comic, man. Even though it’s simple, it has a good sense of timing, and the posing is very well done. I think it might have been cool to have Honda have his eyes opened on the last panel. Very cool Honda too! Looks like everyone is giving the painted style a try. Great job, especially considering you are mousing it. Something about the facial structure reminds me of T-Hawk for some reason. Hehe, and I totally know what you mean about the shadow on my Honda’s nose. I tend to get lazy with my pencilling, and jsut do it loosely and tighten up the drawing as I ink as well as add shadows sometimes too. As soon as I made the shadow, I was like, hrmmm… maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.
VSlash: Very cool chaotic pic. Hehe, it looks like Bison possessed Dan’s body or something. There should totally be an Evil Dan in a SF game someday. One thing that is a little weird is it’s hard to tell where Juli’s right leg is going, it kind of just terminates at the knee, but it’s hard to tell where the lower leg is supposed to be going. Fun lookin Honda too. I think his nose is just a bit odd the way it is upturned kinda pig like. Lol, it cracks me up how thin the parasol handle is in his hand.
CptMunta: Pretty cool. Try varying you lineweights more. You have mostly the same thick lines throughout, which makes it a little harder to read and less interesting to look at.
thedude.com: Huh?
scumgale: Nah, you’re Honda ain’t horrible. Honda is kinda tough, since he’s supposed to be fat and muscular. Try sketching out basic forms and shapes before you add details to get a better sense of structure in your drawings.
