Just because a character has a high damage easy to do combo doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a high execution bar if you’re trying to maximize damage.
Sentinel has a lot too him, and the fact that most people cop out and do the easy stuff only delays us from learning the true beast that Sentinel is.
I think that needs to be taken into consideration a bit. Not as much as people would assume but the fact that some characters can do those autopilot combos for like 500 damage means something.
But just going on basics, actually what’s blatantly obvious, everyone has combos. Everyone has combos of varying levels. Some characters easiest and most advanced combos differ in damage. I think you have you take that into consideration just a bit.
I think Sentinel is easy but not just solely for that combos and his others like it.
5 most difficult right now:
Dante, Doom, Zero, Iron Man, Jill
5 least difficult right now:
Hulk, Haggar, Sentinel, Wolverine, Skrull
Not that this means anything, every character in this game is piss-easy except for flashy Dante.
I think you guys are conflating a few things. “Difficult to be effective with” can mean multiple things. A character could either have a high execution barrier (IE Viper, Iron Man) or they could just suck period (Hsien-Ko). Viper has terrible normals so she has to rely on smart use of specials such as seismo chaining which is execution extensive. Hsien-Ko is not a high-execution character, she’s just slow with terrible normals and low damage output. There are also some characters that have very difficult things that aren’t even necessary because the character is EZ mode enough. You can be effective with Sentinel (lol super armor) and Zero (lol priority) without even doing advanced combos. Same with Magneto, spamming disruptor and doing a basic fly-dash combo builds enough meter and does enough damage to beat half the cast. Justin Wong raped people with Zero just doing ABC launcher just because Zero’s mixup and normal priority is so good. Buster charge combos take some execution, but lol like that guy said it’s MvC3, everything is D- execution. If you think holding buttons is hard, go play Eddie in GG.
