Changing Dee Jay for AE ver. 2012

Dee jay needs what every other lower tier char needs, an easier way (or simply a way) to combo into Ultra or for all of it connect with full animation. Make U1 work like Chun’s (as previously suggested) and/or make U2 dash forward automatically as part of the animation, enabling everyone to connect it at mid screen with ease.

How do capcom give some chars tons of ways to land ultra (Rufus) and the rest with none or very little? (Deejay)

cl.mp becomes b+mp command normal
1 frame less recovery on lk sobat (so it’s -4 on block and safe from those damned flashkicks when properly spaced)
allow U1 to juggle off an AA mk upkicks (or hk when you miss the second hit) so it works as well as Fei’s U1 for a juggle ender

4-frame crouching short, for the love of baby Christ. This 5-frame business needs to get out of my sight; it completely defeats the “option” part of his crouching throw tech OS, as if his ground defense game needed more holes.

Change the timing so that MK upkicks used as an anti-air is combo-able into U2 and maybe U1 as easily as Blarog headbutt to U1.

Edit: it was a typo, but I’m keeping it “Blarog” because I now love it.

Its funny cause I saw an old Super vid of DJ doing mk upkicks (from about midscreen to corner) into U2 in one of those DJ test vids somewhere in this section…tryed that shit and the best I could get was ex upper…still dont think it would land if that move could combo.

the only combos i can’t do with deejay are ex as > U1 in Super and mk upkicks > U2
i feel like its impossible. doesn’t modinside play on pad?

I remember a video that had a CH to U2 set up. I think they use st.lk. Anybody know where to find the video?

  1. Change his U2 motion to match Guile’s sonic hurricane. EXMGUxxDashxxU2 is still tough even after the minor change to it.
  2. Buff his fireball so he can become more like ST DJ (a true zoner with rushdown).

you can do counter hit jab cl. mk and cl lk into U2.
stop asking for U2 changes. its fine. he needs something difficult to use. if they make it any easier to use i’m pretty sure it will come with a damage nerf and i’m not for that at all.

TBH I think his fireball is fine. It shouldn’t be as good as Guile’s, and its recovery is the second best. I think it’s a strong contender for being one of the best fireballs in the cast, since Guile got his meter nerf on boom. EX maxout is a little annoying because it takes so long to come out, but on the other hand I’ve made use of the fact that it covers a big chunk of the screen quite a few times.

Fireball with df since guile has a shorter charge time.

If they give use fireball with df they can leave the counter hit.

They just rolled out the AE 2012 changes.
lp spd range hasn’t changed. I’m completely shocked. That shit is absurd LOL
Rog and Bipson got buffed.
Viper U1 dmg nerf
Ken stayed the same w/ buff to target combo
Ryu has buffs centered around U2.
No chun nerf

Not too worried about the buffs on anyone in the cast just yet. I am also shocked that they buffed lp SPD’s stun, as well as EX greenhand’s stun. It seems like they want Gief to be dizzying more often than he is now.

Looks like they’re just trying to diversify character’s strategies, rather than make existing ones stronger. See the Rog, Ryu and Viper U2 buffs, and Sim’s yoga blast buff.

I dunno, am I the only one that’s scared about what will happen to Dee Jay?

DJ ex upkick will get nerfed. But I hope lk upkick hit crouchers
