Aren’t they still doing changes for later loc tests :(. There’s still hope
Every user at Unity forums that aren’t apart of here don’t think DeeJay should be changed. They don’t know the pain…
That place is dumb and full of people who don’t know shit but always first to comment.
Yeah I’ve always HEARD about the retards there…But I did it for my boy DeeJay…What ever.
I’ma stick with him until the update comes…I’ll play around with him and see how everything feels…maybe there’s some hidden buffs…maybe some stuff turned out greater than we expected…If I dont like it, I’ll just second him and Sagat will be my new main.
So when are they announcing all of the new changes?
Well, that last Dev blog said that Ae location tests are over…If there were anymore changes they wanted to announce, they prob would of did it in that one.
Well they had location tests pretty recently and were still handing out forms for people.
This is what i think they should do:
Normals:
Cr.LP: faster start up and more hitstun
Cr.MP: More Priority
Cr.HP: more pushback on block.
St.MK: 2nd hit faster recovery
Cr.RH: Better recovery.
Specials:
MGU: full hits do same pushback (on block) as normal MGU and should hit crouching opponents.
Sobat: LK sobat is same as SSFIV, this means also not being able to combo from weak attacks (lp and lk). EX sobat is invincible to Fireballs in the whole animation and invincible at the startup overall.
AirSlasher: Remove that stupid CH. Decrease recovery.
Ultra’s:
Ultra1: 300 damage and fully connects after EX-MGU.
Ultra2: Opponent doesn’t bounce back after hitting the wall, making the ultra safe.
You don’t understand certain things about deejay. i mean i don’t think you’re asking for the right things.
Also priority doesn’t exist.
More hitstun would affect linking timing.
Frame advantage is needed on block.
U1 after mgu would be stupid for less damage.
Making it do what its supposed to do is all that’s needed.
Sweep does need less recovery.
Priority is if 2 hit boxes around the same size/type clash and one wins. You’ve seen Hitbox pics right? The attack with less green(hurtbox) in or around it would win in a clash. In AE they basically gave Deejay’s standing jab more priority. Every anti aired someone with jab? That’s priority.
I personally wouldnt mind less recovery on slide…He doesnt NEED it…but I’d def be ok with it.
Ok, let me xplain why i want these changes:
Normals:
Cr.LP: faster start up and more hitstun: It has terrible range so the buff i mentioned should be a good trade-off
Cr.MP: More Priority: In ST it had a lot of priority and was one of the trademarks for DJ.
Cr.HP: more pushback on block: It would give me more breathing space to re-evaluate what to do next.
St.MK: 2nd hit faster recovery: Should be DJ’s best poke.
Cr.RH: Better recovery: I know that this move is actually for going forward while keeping your charge or use it as AA, but for the sake of keeping charge it should have better priority.
Specials:
MGU: full hits do same pushback (on block) as normal MGU and should hit crouching opponents: Your bnb blockstring.
Sobat: LK sobat is same as SSFIV, this means also not being able to combo from weak attacks (lp and lk). EX sobat is invincible to Fireballs in the whole animation and invincible at the startup animation.
AirSlasher: Remove that stupid CH. Decrease recovery: I think that AirSlasher is the worst fireball in the game at the moment, it gives the opponent an easy chance to CH and it does only 50p of damage lol. It seems that capcom wants DJ not to be one of the best zoning characters.
Ultra’s:
Ultra1: 300 damage and fully connects after EX-MGU: It sucks otherwise, give it more range and faster start-up if the mentioned buff is not plausible.
Ultra2: Opponent doesn’t bounce back after hitting the wall, making the ultra safe: Hard to connect and NOT safe, this ultra might be bad as U1.
Ow and please, pretty PLEASE: give us a more invincible ex-MGU as wake-up reversal. It still gets stuffed by stupid normals.
- Backdash is terrible
- Cant escabe half the characters with Jacknife
- Cant escape Throw shenanigans
Maybe its me but giving DJ a good option to escape would help a lot.
Of course less green would win because it would be harder to hit. Idk how to explain what I’m saying.
Well allow me to retort Samuel L Jackson voice
Priority of cr mp doesn’t need to be strengthened, it needs more range. In ST deejay had chun-like normals. Cr mp has no range when trying to play footsies. Hell it even whiffs in combo.
Air Slasher second worst fireball in the game? You mean for pressure setups? Maybe, but that’s what ex is for. Have you thrown a fireball with ken? Lol that’s bad.
Lk sobat canceling of weak attacks is very important. It increases deejays punish damage and gives you an Oki setup and time you touch somebody without having to land a hard link. Great for online.
Deejay’s mk could use less recovery, but it should work like guile’s as a far reaching anti air so I don’t have to let people in or use a risky AA fireball
I’ll take more range and fireball invincibility on U1.
Agree with U2. Landing that on gief is scare as Hell afterwards.
I think cr HP is fine. If anything far roundhouse needs faster startup and more knockback.
Far HP needs to launch crouchers on CH. I think it should always launch. They could definitely do that. I would even settle for less buffs with that.
Food for thought.
Ex sobat needs less recovery on whiff.
Hk upkicks should hit crouchers but have a low amount of invincibility.
best post every! Capcom doesn’t care about deejay. And I thought I had it bad with maining blanka.
…you can’t be serious…someone tell me he’s joking…
I think that if DeeJay doesn’t get good buffs, especially if they aren’t what he needs, he’ll pretty much be a dead character. Not the worst in the game, but definitely pointless to learn how to play. All I ask at the very least is he becomes tournament viable in 2012.
Also does anyone else get kind of annoyed when people say that DeeJay is gonna be S tier in 2012 just because he got buffed. People did the same thing with AE saying he was gonna be the new Super Guile and people were gonna bandwagon him. Lol people are so dumb sometimes.
PS. The people on Capcom Unity saying DeeJay is fine as is are fucking idiots. I bet a good 80% of them are online randoms I would demolish with DeeJay on a daily basis. Ugh…I hate seeing casuals trying to talk about balance and tier placement. They don’t know the struggle of trying to compete with such a mediocre character. I wanna main him but in the end I know that it will only break my heart if I try.
With the top tier getting nerfed I think he’ll be tournament viable.
I’m crossing my fingers for it.
The top tier getting worse isnt gonna change Deejay’s shitty normals or shitty wakeup.
I’m hoping they actually review this character and give us more than the listed buffs.
True that. I really hope our requests were heard (over the Capcom Unity people especially. OMG such insolence). That and I hope a lot of smart people who know what DeeJay needs put some good requests on the surveys after the location tests.
