A3 is just too big; it almost takes up an entire disk by itself, and I can’t find any easy way of trimming the size down like I could with 3S. Same for Vamp Chronicles, and the non KOF neogeo titles like Garou, LastBlade 2, Twinkle Star Sprites (don’t laugh, I love that game.), etc. SSF2:ST is pretty small, and I could probably fit it in a compilation with cvs2, mvc2, or 3S (pick two. they are all roughly 200-300 megs in size) but for some reason I can’t get ST to run when started from the browser. So, unless someone knows the trick to it, it aint gonna happen.

You listed one song for each stage, but each stage has 3 tracks. Did you break the songs up, or how’d you put them in?

Just curious, how do you deal with the different songs per round? Did you have any difficulty with the files being too big and making the game not fit onto the cd?

aight well if u dont mind the 3s and cvs2 alone would be mighty fine…thanks in advance

anyway i got this music editor and i must say it is fabolous…u can cutt mp3’s into segments however u see fit…so u dont have to worry about say a song getting start in the middle of a chorus or something like that…anyway…i cut all the songs up into 3 sections and made them all blend together so when the round changes its not all shitty sounding…guys ive played the game with say its sounds really good

name of the program btw is MP3 WAV EDITOR…great program but u gotta buy the license for it sorry

and now…by popular demand…(give props to obot64 for this faq i think he wrote it if not then he is the guy i got it from so give props anyway)

Im almost done with having all three (MvC2,CvS2,and 3S) in one disc. No need to to make one with just two

Do you have a list of which track goes to which stage for 3S? Just the three letters at the end would work (CHI, SHI, Q, MEX, etc) if you have it. Mainly, I wanted to know which one was Gill’s, so I could swap them with the three tracks for Abyss on MvC2.

Progress: I know which tracks will be used for the 3S soundtrack, CvS2 soundtrack, MvC2 soundtrack, and ‘Best Mix’ soundtrack for each of the three games. Thats at least 4 soundtracks for each games (ie MvC2 will have an original soundtrack, a CvS2 soundtrack, a 3S soundtrack, and a ‘Best Mix’ soundtrack) A little work tonite on cleaning up the menu and flexing my weak PShop and HTML skills and it’ll be all done. Hope for a release before Wednesday.

the 3s adx music list u can get on page 2 of this thread has all the info on what song goes to which stage…if u have anymore questions let me know

well if alls u got is a selfboot and u need a non selfboot to make ur customs then follow this guide to turn the sb to nsb

i cant post all of the programs u’ll need BUT the guide provides links to sites where u can download eerrrrrthing u need so please dont ask me for them unless u really really really REALLY cant get them…thanks

i dont wanna sound like the dickhead i am but im already swamped with requests for programs and customs already…anyway i really need u guys to post lists of songs for me because its the weekend and tomorrow im gonna sit down and start making some more custom 3s’…so please holla back with some info…

For the selfboot makers out there…when you use IPINS.exe, it is suppose to insert IP.BIN as a bootsector…so it is supoose to be inserted inside the iso?? And are you suppose to see the IP.BIN from a finished cd??

i have a video walkthrough of making customs too…i dont use it but the guy goes thru the steps of making the game selfboot after u’ve added the music to it…i really dont know who made this video so i cant give props where props are due…sorry

hit me up on aim for the videos its mojo makoto

oh yeah and any questions about making customs please post them on the thread rather than messaging me cuz i rarely check my messages…sorry again

holla

made my 2nd 3s mix last night and it sounds great…i really like making 3s mixes mainly because i can cut up the songs and its just real cool i think when a new round starts and u can hear the music just blend together…brings tears to my eyes really it does…anyway im struggling for some good songs on my next mix so if ANYONE can help me i would greatly appreciate it

i really wanted to finish up 2 more mixes this weekend but finding songs for my 3rd mix was awfully hard…ive only got like 5 outta the 17 tracks i need and 2 of them are the character select songs…sigh…anyone please post suggestions

Just letting everyone know the guide that ibuki posted to make selfboots into non selfboots works wonders. If anyone is having trouble doing this, pm me and ill help with what i can.

Hi, all im new to this forum.

Ive got myself in a bit a trouble and need help, i myself have changed ADx-trcks for CvS2 with no problems. But i cant seem to burn back CDr correctly.

1.I have extracted my selfboot copy of CvS2 onto my harddrive.
2.Converted/changed its ADx files to my own music tracks.

So how do i and burn the game back to a blank CD to play on my dreamcast?

I just get confused in doing so.

session 1 >track 1,… Session 2 >track 2 >iso-ECHELON . (my resuslts of burning should look like this, but dont)

so basically, ive done all the hardwork (weeks of remixing old classic game music into ADx files, ect). but cant burn the thing back to play!

If anyone could help in how i can do so?

Thnx in advanced.

Shaolin requested the 1st_read.bin from a non-selfboot mvc2.

www.worldwarriornetwork.com/acesmith5/1ST_READ.zip

see f2hunter the thing is u cant just add ur adx files to the game and simply burn the game again and expect it to work…u have to go thru and do some shit to make the game selfboot or something weird like that…ive tried doing that with selfboots and it just doesnt work…my advice just use the turning selfboots to non selfboots tutorial and make ur game non selfboot then add ur files and burn it…i mean whats the problem with having to put a boot disc in u know? i dunno

holla back

if i spent 3 weeks making 20 remixes why wouldnt i mind putting in a boot disk??

Thnx for your advise, oh could you direct me to that tutorial mentioned!!

Tnx!

Because its only a little more work to get it to selfboot; saves wear and tear on your DC; you can put your own grapic in the IP.BIN to be displayed with the Sega logo when it boots, you can give it to a friend without having to burn a bootdisk for them as well, you can make the first session audio your own track of whatever you want, so if they put it in a cdplayer and play it, they get your ‘this is for yer DC, dumbass’ message you recorded, or perhaps the soundtrack for the game if you’re so inclined.

Its like having a chip instead of a swap cartridge for your PSX. Sure, you can swap, but its a pain in the ass. I just want to put the disc in and play.

PS: Shaolin, I think yer PM’s are full. Send an email or show up on msn/aim sometime.

the sb to nsb tutorial should be on this page under my other name “the 4day ibuki”…should be the attachment

toodles - give us some info on the easiest way to make ur game selfboot…ive got videos but the guy in the video burns with cdrwin and i , along with others most likely, are having trouble with cdrwin being compatible with my current cd burner…and im not gonna go out and get a new burner just so i can make my games selfboot…

my friends are bums so they need the excersize of putting in a boot disc every so often…they just need that little bit of work

anyway holla back wiff some info

The big question is if the command line cdrecord.exe supports your burner. If it does, its simple. Just follow the directions in the echelon selfboot tutorial. There are steps in there for using cdr-win as well, but cdrecord.exe and mkisofs.exe are totally the way to go. Everyone at first can’t get it right. Here’s the trick: Print it out, and do it LINE BY LINE. If you follow it exactly, youll have a working disc. If it bjork’s up, you either missed a step or did something out of order. Go through it, beginning to end, for every disc.

If you can’t get cdrecord.exe or cdr-win methods to work, grab bin2boot and try that instead. Maybe Ill see about getting camtasia to video record it, but god, what a boring video it would be. It would all be on the DOS prompt and exactly what the Echelon tutorial says. Here’s what it would look like:

cdrecord --dev=0,0,0 --speed=1 -multi audio.raw
cdrecord --dev=0,0,0 -msinfo
< 0,11702
move data\1st_read.bin data\IP.BIN .
BINHACK
> 1st_read.bin
> IP.BIN
> 11702
move 1st_read.bin data
mkisofs -C 0,11702 -V ToodlesRox -l -o data.iso data/
IPINS
> IP.BIN
> data.iso
cdrecord --dev=0,0,0 -xa1 data.iso

Thats it, in all its glory, for non-cdda Katana games (like 3s, cvs2, and mvc2)

Thanx that “how to make selfboots non selfboots” worked perfect…

But the tracks (Adx files) ive replaced dont play in the game.
Ive copy and pasted the selected track names, so that aint the problem, i think my problem is that i need to make the adx files actually ADX-bin files IE:

ADX_ST02.bin

(the adx files in MvC2 are in ‘Bin’ format). Ive got al my adx files reday, now i need to change the .ADX to .Bin If you understand what i mean…

Its prob realy simple, but i dont know how ??

Mine: ADX (adx format)

Target: ADX (bin format) ?
