Jon,
I thought we had some great matches as well. Trust me, once you learn how to pull of the 360’s, it never goes away. It adds a lot to your gameplay. I can’t wait to play you guys in the future.
Oh, I do agree with you that you should try some different games.
Oh, I also like the way you spell your name. THat’s how my brother spells it. I’ve never seen anyone else spell it like that.
Mario - You’ve got to convince your friends to come out and hit the road sometime. Indiana needs to be unified, rather than everyone just staying within their local circles forever.
I completely agree. If we could start to get a major scene going in this state, then the tournament scence would pick up again. Lately, the mid-west scene has seemed pretty dead. With the exception of Dave’s tournies, the Cleveland area, and Chicago, I haven’t seen a lot of tournies develop.
Also, if someone decides to throw a tourney then EVERYONE should show up. That’s what hurts the scene the most. People say that they’ll show up but they never do. Hopefully we’ll start to make some new changes in this state.
Hey did you guys see that another CvS2 Indiana player has shown up in the forums???
We could hold a tournament here at Purdue, though popularity might be low save for the SRKers here. I would suggest that we make the tournament scrub friendly to get more people here, but I wouldn’t know much on how to do that since I have never done a fighting game tournament.
It would be great to hold another get together sometime soon. Anytime before Christmas break is out of the question for me though but that shouldn’t stop anyone else from doing something on their own.
All I can say is that if we have any ideas to get things moving, then it’s best to voice them here and act upon it in the best way we can. While mainstream popularity is a LONG way off, there has to be a way to bring in new people with the games already available.
Just wondering how everyone is doing right now. The thread has been kinda dead for quite some time. I assume it’s finals so I will just wish everyone good luck with those. I look forward to seeing all of you next year in some way, shape or form.
I have decided that I am going to hold a party in Bloomington. It will be on January 14th. It will of course have fighting games involved but basically here’s how I want it to go.
We’ll have some gaming going on from 1pm to like 7 or so. I might even throw a few tournaments if you guys are nice to me.
Afterwards we’ll get some food and meet with Jodie…my aussie friend that will be here that weekend.
Afterwards we will hit up the Bloomington nightlife and have an overall fun time.
You are all invited to do any or all of the things of course. I only want to do this if there’s gonna be any interest though, so post up and lemme know what you think.
The difference is that I want to go to try the many kinds of alcohol out there without having to go through hoops to do it. I also want to go to bars and stuff and really experience the life that college towns have to offer. Most of all, I want to participate in the Kendo tradition of drinking after a hard practice/tournament.
It isn’t that much of a big deal when I am back home since I am just a short drive from Atlanta which has many things out there for those that are under 21. But since I decided to come to the middle of a cornfield to get the best education that I can get, I need other things to have fun.
Playing games all day is a nice ideal way to spend a day when you have nothing better to do, but I’d rather tell my kids that I did stuff instead of doing homework and playing video games.
