Casual Team Advice

I should tape some vids of a friend of mine here named Matt.

Plays Chun/Jin/SonSon or Spidey/Hulk/Colossus. Does retarded shit with Zangeif/Colossus/Amingo(Defense Up Enhancement Assist = wtf).

His SonSon OCVs people’s Santhrax and MSPs, haha. Dude is beast.

look for matches on preppy’s site or youtube of gabes/kapkom’s sonson

on youtube, he is called gabrielle by lord hollow

on preppy, search for anakaris and then the anakaris/sonson/tron or anakaris/storm/sonson vids…I believe he has jin in his team in one of those vids.

wall run is very useful. dp recovery tricks people. gabe has some tricks on incoming characters using the dp. big monkey invinicibility is useful. she’s very quick and low to the ground when wavedashing, and df+hp is quick.

I’m looking at a new team at the moment, and would like to involve magneto and Cammy to some capacity. Ideas?

Magneto/Cammy/Tron
Magneto/Doom/Cammy

Cammy+Tron is reset rape express.

Doom rocks cover Cammy pretty well during rushdown, covers KBA well, provides decent lockdown.

Awesome stuff, will try em out.

now this looks like a thread I can have fun with since I pretty much only picking low tier whenever I play at CSULB.

Some Bison stuff that I’ve found good that I don’t think I saw anyone else mention is good uses for the flipkick. I like to pressure with his hcb+p ball, follow with sj.flipkick, dash in with projectile assist following, and jp, sj.flipkick behind for cross ups. As was mentioned earlier, with assist like storm-a, this can be a very beastly and FAST way to pressure people.

for the colossus/akuma team, I’d say add SilSam proj. for a way to chip and close ground since you already have akuma for combos. He’s also good to cancel into from either colo or akuma. A tactic I like to use with colo is to call the assist and tiger knee his lk tackle for good pressure. You’ll recover b4 the star is finish hitting him and you’ll be able to go from there.

For the mar/doom/son team, I have to say that mar should be your meter builder while chipping. I’d also change the order of your team to have Son second as that can lead to some nasty cancels. She’s also got great lockdown.
EX. dash in, jp+doom, mp, fp, lp bonerang, dash in, jump, fp bonerang, land, call doom, dash in lp, mp, fp, hcb+p, recover, jp bonerang.

waits to see new teams getting posted

Just wanted to post some vids of my Teams in action:

My Team Sacrilege (Ruby/Akuma/Morrigan):

My Team Red Alert (Hayato/Jin/MM):

Team Ian (Stole it from one of Preppy’s friends  :Amingo, Charlie, Sim):

They’re kinda sloppy because I keep putting down Marvel for a few weeks and then coming back to it without keeping up on practice (For Shame :shake:) but I should have the dust knocked out this weekend, so to speak.

I really like your team Sacrilege. I like how that team works in every character order. Fun!

Yeah, I don’t have to worry about focusing on any one character for strategy should one happen to die or what-have-you. Ruby can use Akuma for blockstrings and offense, and Morrigan for combos and defense, Akuma can use Ruby for zoning, offense and blockstrings and Morrigan can use Ruby for zoning, combos and Akuma for combos, blockstrings. Its a big loop where the team helps out one another all the time.

I was messing around last night with Colossus-AA, Bison-Exp (Scissor), Akuma-Exp, there’s actually some decent stuff there.

With Colossus, c.LK + Bison, c.LK xx Giant Swing is solid damage and can lead to good positioning, and if done in the corner, you can OTG with c.LK and go in to a launcher + Dive combo. With Akuma, Colo’s gameplan is pretty braindead and just involves landing a low + Akuma combo’d into some common sense Dive combo.

Bison gets some benefits from Colo’s AAA in the corner too, c.LK + Colo, c.HK, (Colo OTGs), d.HP into air combo xx Scissor Kick xx Crusher is damn good damage. I haven’t figured much out for Bison outside of the corner, but if I do, there could be some potential there.

For a third, I was gonna use Akuma, because he’s just a fun point character, and he has some good stuff with Bison/Colo assists. s.LP, s.LP + Bison, s.HP xx Messatsu Gou Hadou is braindead simple and it’s pretty decent damage, and I would imagine Bison can also make for some good blockstrings coupled with Akuma’s speed. With Colo, just do a normal ground magic ending in a sweep, OTG with Colo, c.HP into air combo in to Air Hurricane in to Tenma Gou Zanku.

This team seems to be pretty bad in getting people off them, or maybe I just have no idea what to do. I figure calling Colo and doing a Shoryuken with Akuma could be a ghetto way to get people off for a second, but if that doesn’t work right, Akuma could eat a combo, and with his defense, he’d be toast.

Any insight here would be pretty helpful, these are three of my favorite characters to have on point and I feel like their assists could benefit one another and make a half-competent low-tier team.

Some low-tier players have good enough defense that they don’t need an AAA (I thinking Kanu), but from how you describe it, I would guess that’s not the case. Just because you pick Gouki, doesn’t mean you use EXP assist. I would suggest Picking AAA, since its as good as Ken’s (Fast, invincibility), you already speak of comboing off of the Bison assist so you may have to resign to that. You also speak of fearing Gouki being killed while he does his EXP assist, so the AAA may be the overall better option too.
