No double Jeopardy means you can’t be convicted of the same crime twice. So like you where convicted of murder and did your time, got out, and then found out the person you “killed” is still alive, you could kill them and they can’t convict you of it. It’s the whole premise of the movie Double Jeopardy. You most certainly an be tried for the same crime multiple times if n ew evidence where to surface that implicates you, or you confess to the crime.

It has been a while since I’ve been in a law class, but I’m pretty sure this is wrong. I think there are a few examples of people who have confess to their crime after being acquitted.
If they change the charges then you might have to go through trial again (I think). However if it’s same crime, same charges they should be safe due to double jeopardy.

To my understanding of Hollywood movies, she can be tried again if new, worthwhile evidence is introduced. If she goes out and brags about the murder, the standards for worthwhile evidence drop considerably.

I like how everyone thinks the jury got it wrong, yet these people did not spend 33 days hearing the facts, circumstances and evidence. People think all you need to do is watch court TV (that’s slanted heavily) and all of a sudden your reasoning is just as good as the jury. Just shut up.
Sheeeeit, I think this got media coverage for the past 3 years or so mostly because she happens to not be horribly ugly. (*Imagine the same story happened, but the mother in question looked like Camryn Manheim, or that girl that played “Precious” in the movie. It would be surprising if the story got any major network coverage lasting more than a few days or so.) Hell yeah I’d hit, regardless of what she was accused of. She was looking quite hot in those “party girl” pictures that Nancy Grace kept showing over and over again for years.
In before they find some Puerto Rican guy in connection with this murder.
