Bayo 2 is just gonna make me feel like i got even more for my money.
IGN Video interview with the Platinum games on Bayo 2’s development and Nintendo’s involvement.
Don’t even bother looking in the comments section…you’ll lose braincells.
Edit:…I’m not sure but it sounds like they were hinting at another collaboration project between Nintendo and Platinum in that vid…I’m not going to read too much into it though.
You could still play FFXIII on the other “legit” console… This game is on the hated Nintendo console, so you have typical port begging combined with the irrational animosity some people have for all things Nintendo, combining to make a grand hurricane of bullshit, butthurt, and a deluge of salty tears.
It’s waaaaaaayyyyy worse. It’s been like that since the initial announcement and still going. FFXIII was just weeaboos pissed that a baka-gaijin system got an FF game.
Honestly the funniest part of the whole Bayo 2 <3 Nintendo issue is that people are looking at it so short sightedly, for Platinum this is bridge building. THey are forming contacts and working relationships, W101, and Bayo 2 are them getting friendly with Nintendo, much like MGR was them getting friendly with Konami (Well Kojima, but he is Konami these days so…), this kind of stuff leads to them getting to make more games, and in the end the people who win from these relationships is us because we get more games from them.
Constantly crying about the prospect of more games is so fucking stupid.
Most of the people complaining about it are just misinformed, and most don’t really want to look up for more info and choose to stay ignorant.
Still, I do think that people have all the right to complain and be sad/angry about it. It’s not really Platinum’s fault, but it sucks that the only way that they could do the game is with Nintendo’s help.
Sony has been so open do all kind of small developers and indies for the PS4 that I’m curious to know if Platinum contacted them back before developing the game and, if they did, what was Sony’s response.
Platinum already explained that Nintendo was the only one who helped them get Bayo 2 off the ground after Sega dropped it. I’m sure they went to MS and Sony first since Bayo 1 released on those consoles, so it would’ve made sense to approach them before anyone else.
Yeah dude the port begging is insane. And alot of the port begging I see isn’t from actual Bayonetta fans. actual Bayonetta fans I see, are more like “ahh its on wii u, i had no plans on getting one, but i will eventually for Bayo 2 and whatever else comes” the non-bayo fans a.k.a port beggars just literally say shit “why would they put in this on inferior hardware. lol this game is gonna suck its on wii u. lol the game would definitely be better on ps4 hardware” they say all this shit. But display on interest in the actual game or talk about how they played the 1st lol.
I do remember I was a bit salty when FF13, went multiplat, and other games, but that simply because it was Sony losing big franchises that helped build them up. But again I don’t understand why people don’t understand “nintendo paid for the game. it is for a nintendo console” lol
Like the extreme hate for Nintendo is insane these especially when Nintendo is working hard to keep consumers happy. I mean they fuckin had platinum include the first game with some Nintendo easter eggs to please fans. And niggas is still crying. But based on my gamefaqs lurking, alot of people seem to have interest in it. So I really hope the game does decent man. It’s platinums first sequel and they truly deserve the game to do well
If only there was a WiiU Bayonetta bundle for $300… I don’t care about specific colors or decals, just the regular black 32GB bundle with Bayonetta 1 and 2 instead of NSMB with an attractive price.
I did a search about it, but only found people complaining about the absence of one and a post about Hideki Kamiya (Platinum Games’ game designer) wanting one.
Activision and MS are on that list that Platinum has/is working with as well.
I don’t know what’s up with Sony. Mikami apparently isn’t a fan of them either, despite their consoles being the reason people know him. I wonder if that’s just to lip service or what? I don’t think there’d be an answer anyway out there, since it deals with contracts and what not. With the PS4 numbers (outside of Japan), that gives Sony leverage as they can point to the size of the fan base as a point of contention to lowball companies?
Platinum didn’t make that port, smart ass. They built a game optimized for 360, Sega got nervous looking at that Xbox install base in Japan, and hired a third party to bang out a hastily done port to PS3.
When they did get word that the port was flawed, Kamiya threw a hissy fit at Sega to get a patch done to shore up the problems.
While the PS3 version is still slightly inferior graphically*(but dat gameplay still buttery smooth… you know the REALLY important part)*, it is far, far better than all the detractors say.
If you were truly informed and read up on things, and you wouldn’t be trying to get lame one-liners and img drops*(of which you can’t compete with the King of snappy img post comebacks)* because what I said pierced your soul.
Man I remember when the game released one of the mods was saying the differences weren’t that big. I think he worked for Sony as well. That dude was getting so much heat (just generally about the PS3’s lack of games) that he just left, lol.
Well, I have a PS3 and all of my experience with the game was on it, so it’s not like I’m just taking the “detractors” words for it…
I didn’t know it was a “port” and I honestly don’t care. I saw the Platinum logo on it, I paid 60 bucks for it and I expected a decent version, not the mess that the game was prior to the patch (that indeed solved most of the framerate issues).
It’s not like this whole “they didn’t make that port” excuse works for any other developer/publisher, but people sucking up to Platinum is business as usual around here.
Anyway, this guy doesn’t seem to support your “third party port” excuse:
“The biggest failure for Platinum so far, the one that really sticks in my mind, is that port,” Platinum director Atsushi Inaba told Edge. “At the time we didn’t really know how to develop on PS3 all that well, and whether we could have done it… is irrelevant: we made the decision that we couldn’t. But looking back on the result, and especially what ended up being released to users, I regard that as our biggest failure.”
and
“We learned that we needed to take responsibility for everything"
About the gameplay being “buttery smooth, you know the REALLY important part”, see the Digital Foundry Face-Off of the PS3, XBOX360 and WiiU version:
Of course, when discussing a game like Bayonetta, it’s the stability of the frame-rate that is most important. In its original form on Xbox 360 the game did a reasonable job of hitting its 60fps target while a soft v-sync setup allowed for torn frames when the game was unable to sustain its 16ms update. The same setup is used on PS3 as well but that version barely manages to sustain 30fps, let alone the full 60
Buttery smooth on your ass
Also, learn how to take a joke, smart ass. You don’t need to throw a hissy fit everytime someone so much as make joke about your holy beloved developer
It’s really hard to seperate who is joking and who is being a whiny butthurt baby when it comes to Bayonetta 2 on Wii U though.
If you were joking, I didn’t find it all that funny, and it still doesn’t change my point that the consumer base is what is going to kill this industry faster than all the Microsofts, Capcoms, Ubisofts, and EAs combined.
