Its ok bro. Its coming off in two days time. Stupid Capcom. I actually grew kind of fond of it… NOT. Now I have a choice between a) an actual super hot femi Nash. 2) actual nash or 3) what it was before (i.e nothing) or 4) Captain Commando
Well, it’s a really shit tribute. What kind of friend goes “she was super hot when she was young, also she turned out to have other redeeming qualities when I got to know her”? I know that’s not what he meant and that Twitter is shit for this sort of thing, but it’s still really bad and you should probably put some goddamn effort into your eulogy, even if it’s on social media. It’s not offensive or anything, it just comes off as so forced and insincere. Plus the phrasing is really weird. Seriously, I don’t want to imagine Steve Martin jerking off to Carrie Fisher. I think we all know Brad Pitt basically made it in his early career because he was a ridiculously hot dude, but when he dies I don’t think people will go “yeah, Brad was super hot in Thelma and Louise, but he was actually a nice guy too”, they’d probably talk about Seven or Fight Club or whatever. Slave Leia is a cultural thing, and I don’t think it’s wrong to bring it up, but to lead with that is kind of dumb, because I think even the people who do jerk it to that scene will admit it’s mainly hot because of context. Literally all you needed to do was say she was an amazing person, maybe throw in a Star Wars in there, and possibly tack on the beautiful part (phrased a little less creepy) at the end.
Its just steve martin trying be steve martin. I.e being an attention seeker. Alot of comedians are like that. They love being centre of attention. And try to take other peoples spot like back to themselves
The funny thing is, from seeing and reading dozens of her promos and interviews over the years, she had an old school raunchy sense of humor and probably would’ve defended Steve Martin against these SJWs, who ironically would’ve put her on their hit list if they actually heard the off-collar/ non-PC stuff she talked about on the regular.
I find it obnoxious how people are getting offended for a posthumous Carrie, thinking they’re doing it on her behalf when they just want to make themselves look good. It’s obvious Steve Martin meant well, but people like to jump on bandwagons when it’s more likely Martin knew her more than they did.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to think he made that tweet for this purpose. Gee, people are giving attention to this now deceased woman instead of me. I know, I’ll give a heartfelt tweet with no intention of insult but cause triggering and outrage anyway because of a harmless complimentary adjective. Damn that evil bastard.
Easily the dumbest idea I’ve heard since “Rousey’s gonna win this fight.”
