Man carl is that dude, had the game two days now & I like it unfortunately been gettin beat silly like a cheap hooker but its still fun. I finally learned the throw loop & got most of his sandwich/solo combos down but right now my poke game is horrible or i think must of the pokes seem to get stuffed by mashers/spammers i read up that the 5c 6b 2b 3c 6a(anti air) are good but sometimes they miss a lot when im gettin rushed by that itchy trigger finger chick or that ice happy guy so what do you guys do when bein rushed down in the corner & Nirvanas like 3 miles away???

Teleport or vivace; depending on your opponent, you’ll be able to tell which one to do.

I put my opponents into one of 4 groups:

People who rushdown and don’t know about the trap. You’ll only find these online, if you still find any. Vivace every B, C, or special move they use until you get back to Nirvana. Chances are they’ll rushdown even harder due to frustration, and before they know it, They’re in the clap trap.

People who actually know about his trap, but are hoping that you can’t do it. imo This is the most fun type of person to play against. For some reason, they will also blindly rush you down, in some misguided thinking that “If I keep him pressured, and keep myself from in between Carl and Nirvana, he can’t possibly threaten me.” Teleport nirvana, then immediately Vivace afterwards, and they’ll be in position. Right after the teleport, use 8D just incease they try to jump. If they did jump, you’ve got your trap. If they didn’t jump, go into the sandwich loop.

People who know about the trap, and are determined to ignore any logical strategy, and instead decide to hit-and-run. This can also be a fun match, unless the hit-and-runner is Litchi. Rush them down, teleport Nirvana and wait for a mistake. If they somehow get inbetween you and Nirvana, 9 times out of 10 they’ll try to jump over her (even though she has way better anti-air options than Carl), so throw out 8D.

Smart people. I just use common Carl stuff for these. Poking with 5C, Vivace most specials, punish whiffs and blocks with 2B > 3C > 22D > 236A > 2B > 2C > 8D… 2B is i9 i believe, so you can punish quite alot of moves with it.

This is just what I do, I’m sure there are plenty of way to go about fight with him, but this is what works for me.

Understand that as a Carl player, you’re gonna have to block a lot. Remeber to use your counter assaults (6 A+B) as well

Yea good stuff fellas I still aint been able to perfect the 2b 3c nirvana, vivace 2b 2c althouh its said to be easier than the IAD 2c allecan 2b 2c I have better luck wit the second but I sometimes forget to allecan the opposite direction & endin up bouncin yea gotta perfect them. I noticed runnin away is apart of Carls gameplay but I’m so used to SF4 where certain moves counters others. But Carls pokes sadly lose a lot & does better on whiffs, appreciate the help fellas. Oh & for the 6a+b I haven’t been able to implement it in my game yet but I still got a lot of learnin to do anybody care to lab wit me a bit???

First round, Rachel zones Carl out very effectively, and Carl gets by with a time up win.

2nd round is the death round, also the round that taught me a cool combo/reset/combo string, which I am currently practicing

This Carl thread depresses me, because no one posts here.
Anyways, since I haven’t played BB in months, what are Carl’s best AAs? I always used j. A, but there has to be something better.

Yeah, I saw that crazy CH j. B. Combo into random stuff off it is pretty cool.

I’d think hell no. Just from my experience, I dunno maybe I misuse
