Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000

I just want you to admit that you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about that’s all. And that’s fine, you can speak, but when you’re wrong, just go ahead and admit it. Admitting that you’re wrong does make you look stupid, but you look more stupid when you continue to run your mouth and say the wrong things.

Anyway, back on topic. Is anyone going to discuss this game?

Wrong about what?

That rolling isn’t abusable in this game? That unlike KOF, there’s no pause between rolls and that roll ~ grab is a pretty practical maneuver?

That the ratio system doesn’t work well and that Ratio 3’s mostly suck, and ratio 1’s are supposed to be weak, but easily stand or rise above Ratio 2’s and 3’s (such as Dhalsim). And that furthermore, characters of the same ratio take widely varying levels of damage? That stuff like having Cammy’s standing HK was still present in CvS Pro and didn’t get amended in CvS2?

What, because I didn’t reiterate what people said several posts above about the top tier characters (I’ll add that King was pretty good too)? Are you seriously arguing that this game is competitive or should be considered anymore for tourney play?

The thing I loved about this game was the whole presentation it had when it first hit. Everyone was playing it but eventually the tiers were pretty much set after a few months or so. Still for what it offered the game had some variety and people used all the characters to some extent. I still remember the B5 tourmament with Jason Nelson vs. Chikyuu. Great match.

I remember people saying EX Raiden was somehow a counter to Nakoruru. Does anyone have any idea why?

Then again, I may have confused it with EX Balrog AKA Mr. “WTF is ‘recovery’???”

I think it was Ex Rog.

LOL, I didn’t see this earlier. Ratio 3 characters were all boss characters like Geese, Bison, Vega, and Yamazaki. Yamazaki rapes shotos. Geese had a really good and solid keep away game. EX Bison had a sick ass devils reverse. Okay, maybe they were ass in the overall scheme of things, but they had tools to compete.

What is the biggest travesty were ratio 2 SNK characters. All and I mean all of them were incomplete. Missing a shitload of moves making them shells of who they were. Which is why Capcom had the EX characters to give them the other half. This was true for SNK characters, where is some cases their EX versions were much better.

As far as ratio 1 is concerned. Dhalsim was a ratio 1 character if I remember correctly. Can't be too sure, haven't played this game in 8 years but I played it a lot when it was out. Blanka was also in ratio 1 as was Cammy. The only thing I can remember is they all had ridiculous range. And Benimaru had some weird glitchy shit he could do. There use to be tons of articles on SRK concerning it, but since I never used him, I never really try to bring out these glitches.

It doesn’t matter how decent the ratio 1 characters were, they were nothing compared to Nak. She had something for everyone. Her ground slides had far more range. She had 2 bird attacks, one was the flaming bird which she retained in CVS2. The other was the bird claw. It’s angles were controllable, and gave her free mixups. a lot of her off the bird moves were pretty good as well. And she pretty much kill ratio 1s in seconds.

It’s really important you understand the ridiculousness that is Nak. Seriously she had mixups for days, all nearly impossible to get out of without really just guessing. Oh and she had a decent dash and walk speed. But guess what? HER ROLL WAS SHITTY.

Fucked up rolls really couldn’t have helped you against Nak, nothing could except Guile because of his ridiculous priority. SNK Guile was the shit (that’s who I used). He had great sonic booms, a pretty good flashkick that covers a lot of the screen. standing mp which handles most crossups. So in most cases, you couldn’t retaliate against him. And he get free charge time. And if you do manage to get him down, he could do all of those melee supers and never be puninshed. And break your guard, charge into a L3 somersault justice. Yeah, pretty cheap I know. Well that’s how I used him. Gave people hell.

Ratio 1s were overrated. And guess what, they didn't tweak them too well either because guess who was top tier in CVS 2, and the most versatile top tiers at that? Oh yeah Cammy and Blanka, the same two ratio ones who supposedly needed all of this tweaking. Don't look like they were tweaked well, since them being in CVS 2 almost make it looks like they're in the wrong game. Seriously, they have Alpha 3 ranges.

Only problem I really have is that I can’t really control a HAPP stick at all and that all that I would see is people blocking and running away and Zangief roll+SPD. I’m liking CVS2 way more except that I can’t do shoshosho at all right.

Game is so gdlk.

4 little girls ftw

I like the game its a different feel from cvs 2 entirely. If it wasn’t for ratio 4 marathon matches that take forever and some silly tactics like Power Dunk! but yeah the game is fun. We used to play it all the time at psu before the arcade disappeared.

Err, thanks. You pretty much reiterated what I said/knew and elaborated upon it.

If you like the game, cool. But it has way too many problems to ever again get tourney play.

Short, Short, Sweep, Shinsho = dead Nak.

Not saying Ryu beat her… but with a fireball, DP, and shinsho, she has to give Ryu tons of respect.

Problem is that everyone started Nako and anchored Ryu for meter reasons.
