Just wanted to add something. Low jump rh from max range vs Cammy has worked wonders for me.
Okay, can anyone help me with these matchups:
P - Gief vs Sakura
Really hard to get inside. She can st. RH all day, and I don’t parry it too well. Hard to gain control when she goes crossup crazy.
P - Raiden vs Mai
With her speed, and Raiden’s inconsistant anti-air, I can’t pin her down to the ground very well, and insight on dealing with her.
Gief/Raiden vs Rushdown Ryu
Friggin low jab…
Gief Raiden vs a Yama that snakes all day.
gief vs. sakura… use your downforward mk move… it goes under her rh and outranges it i think. other then that just keep walking forward, parry if she does fireball or hurricane kick, if she crosses you up just do punch lariat, it should beat her clean every time. against running ryu, just block the jabs, parry a jab and sweep him, or seriously, just take the hit and mash on 360 p… if you piledriver him once it’s gonna do a shitload more damage then any jabs he’s throwing. vs yama, you can roll on reaction to snake arms and 360 his ass. other then that, good luck getting in on his standing rh… his downforward mk poke should work, try to parry and sweep to knock him down

Looks like I gotta practice my low jab parries. And I can’t roll on Yama, I play Gief/Raiden in P. ALthough, I’m not sure on this but it looks like the df RH move with Raiden stuffs the low Snake Hands. I sorta got it by accident so I’m not sure on the effectiveness of it.
If you actually dare to, when Ryu rushes you down like that, Mash KKK and move forward.
He might get hit trying to run forward again. He might get hit because your KKK hit his extended fist.
He might suddenly stop. That’s when you spd.
Mix it in gameplay of course, I’m not saying do it all the time. He might wise up. But that means he won’t pressure you as much as he did before.
No reason to take the hit in cvs2 for ground based moves. The +/- frames are the same for every ground-based normal attack but Haohmaru’s s.hp.

No, he’s talking about whether a move is hit or blocked. Ryu’s d.LP gives +7, hit OR blocked. Haoh’s far s.HP on the otherhand is -10 on the hit, but when blocked it’s -24.
He’s right. There’s no point ever taking a purposely taking a hit for anything other than a jumping attack. The static difference/frame advantage is always the same regardless of hit or block.
Does anybody know what the deal with specials is though? I think this might be a mistake in the CvS2 book, but it says Blanka is -22 after a ball regardless of hit or block. Wouldn’t that make it so you can punish him when he hits you too then? I can’t. Maybe it has something to do with how far you’re pushed away after a hit or block. Or maybe it really is a mistake like the data for his kick super (12345 damage? wtf? :lol: ) or the data on Eagle’s blocked LK stick pokes (definately not -2).

Thx for clearing that up. The blanka frame thing is weird. I know it can be punished easier when you block it (and i assume when you eat it) while standing. Example of this is ken punishing him with a f+hk only when blocked standing. I also assume when used in a combo that has you eating attacks while ducking, the blanka ball used to end the combo can not be punished as easy. I haven’t tried anything in training mode so this isn’t concrete.

What i can do? i don’t know how handle Vega’s and Bison’s Air Attacks, because Rising Tackle is too Slow to counter it, and Power Geyser don’t hit too much

For P kyo vs. blanka…
I like to jump in parry and start a c.lk, c.lk, c.mp xx rekka combo. it is hard to get in, and blanka can keep his distance pretty well, but just try to get a knockdown and mix him up to death. If he’s using his ball attack constantly, punish him everytime w/ QCF HP recca combo. It hits everytime, doesnt even need to be a reversal.
FOR RAZOR LUKE
try using df ( down front ).HP, try to maintain a close fight, that way if they jump use it.
