In 2013, I think Capcom should follow in the footsteps of Sega. For the past few years, Sega have been re-releasing old Sega games from the 90’s and 00’s on PSN, XBL, iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Windows Phone. They are re-releasing these old games with improve graphics and online play. I admit that the graphics and online play is subpar but it is better than nothing. Capcom should either create an internal department or partner with an external group to work on re-releasing all their old SF games as digital download. I think if Sega and SNK can do it, then Capcom should be able to do it too. They can call it the Capcom Classics and retroactive consider SF3OE, MvC2, and SF2THDR as part of the Capcom Classics. Then go on to re-release every other SF games as digital download. I am enjoying playing old the Sonic the Hedgehog, Samurai Shodown, and King of Fighter games that game out for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo online on my PS3 and X360. I want to play some old SF games online.
Then people complain it’s not 100% arcade perfect like always and then what? It’s better for them to release PS1 classics so the casual fans have fun and give them sales, and the hardcore players have nothing to complain about.
Ok. That is fine too. I would like that.
