stop nerfing stuff.
It’s a PS2 classic. Basically the same thing. All that’s left is a sequel.
No more UDON involvement.
Basically the TLDR of my post.
-CvS3 with SPRITES.
-Alpha 4 with SPRITES.
That is all.
In reading some other posts… Graphics are a big thing, apparently… People want sprites?
Tell you something… I’m sick of Capcom’s sprites. Why? Because if they do sprites, we’re going to get 1994 Morrigan again. That’s why. The models are fine with me. I’d rather see half-assed models that look actually decent if you get rid of the “OMG SPRITES” bias, than the rehashed nonsense we’ve seen in the past. The only Capcom sprites worth anything - 3S (All), MvC2 (Cable, Sonson, Amingo, Marrow and all the other new characters), CvS2 (Shotos, Bison, Chun, Yun, SNK characters), the new characters for MvC1, Alpha characters except fat Bison, Boxer, and T.Hawk, Ingrid, and lastly - Donovan from Darkstalkers. The rest of the sprites can lick my nuts. I remember people were like, “Oh, Gief has a new sprite in Capcom Fighting Jam”… He had the fucking Alpha sprite with redrawn eyes. That’s not a new sprite.

That’s what Capcom does when they’re asked for new sprites… GTFO Capcom + sprites = fuck no. I don’t trust Capcom enough with sprites to ask for good ones… Then we get what? ST HDR? GTFO…

[]Sprites need to come back for FGs. These models ain’t cutting it.
[]Change the way they balance stuff. They need to realize that nerfing a character’s options isn’t a great way to balance, as they’re better off giving buffs so that more characters have options. Games where everyone is watered down isn’t fun at all, it’s boring.
[]Some Megaman would be nice, and I don’t mean this 8-bit gimmick they’ve been running off of for the past few years. We haven’t had a single Megaman game in this generation of consoles (MM9/10 were okay but didn’t bring anything new to the table). New 2D sidescroller with thoughtful level design and high-res sprites would be sick. A Megaman Legends 3 revival would be great too. Shoot, hook a guy up with Megaman/MMX HD Collection.
[]Please utilize GGPO netcode in all future fighters. They did a great job with it in MvCO and they need to continue from there and build on it.
[*]New Rival Schools/Plasma Sword

They did that with the ZX games…it wasn’t that great TBH.
It’s not sprites that needs to come back, It’s responsiveness. With consoles and their triple-buffered frames, the latency is grating. It’s why I hope for PC versions.
If they’re going to half ass the sprites (which they probably would) then I too would prefer for them to just leave it alone and continue using 3D models. However, if they actually do put some effort into it and decide to get with the program like KOF did, then I would LOVE to see some newly drawn sprites. As amazing as 3S still looks and how good games like Blazblue look now, they could make something really special. Because honestly I’m kinda tired of these 3D models. They just don’t feel or play the same way, in terms of speed, hitboxes or anything really.
I hope Capcom eventually decides to make another sprite based SF, so maybe ***that ***will be the SF everyone plays and not Moon Fighter IV: No Gravity Edition.
Ahem
PUT AVP ARCADE ON XBLA.THAT IS THE BEST BEAT’EM UP EVER.
Also
- New Powerstone
- I personally like the 3D models in the SF4(Though I do understand the criticism for some characters like Chun Li).
- Some new Megaman and Breath of Fire would be cool.
- Transformers Fighting Game
- Hell will freeze over first but I would buy a Pocket Fighter sequel.
-Alpha 4 with young Dudley, Alex and Ibuki.
Eh Capcom didn’t even up the Vanilla SF4 characters for SFxT. They look weird compared to the Super, AE and Tekken cast.
Oh yeah
FIX VIPER’S TITS IN SF4
It looks like a freaking smushed hamburger

I know I don’t play SF4 but it’s like a picture on the wall that’s sideways that I can’t fix and it’s bothering me.
Worry about fun first, difficulty later
Punish the people responsible for their recent fighting game OST’s
Actually take the time to learn about DS and what makes it unique. I don’t wanna play a 1v1 version MVC3.
Most important though:
Stop tinkering with SF4 and stop using its character models for good
Balance by making characters competent, not by making everyone super similar and weak
much of my suggestions for Capcom relate to SF4 as thats the only game I really play these days, so here goes:
Part of the reason vortex stuff is so prominent in SF4 is because of loose reversal windows and mashability. Everyone hates the fact that the game allows people to mash out reversals like crazy, and vortexes are the natural reaction to this sort of thing (many vortex setups are in fact safe jumps and ambiguous crossups that cause reversals to whiff). Also, most people hate vortex shit. So, Capcom should make their fighting games with harder inputs like they used to be and make the reversal timing harder, like they used to be. ST had fine controls, just go back to that. The benefit of having harder inputs with no shortcuts and all the other stuff is that you only get what you expect or nothing. I have never once done Ryus cr.mk into shoryuken on accident in any other SF game.
I also want meaties to be better like they used to be
Also, I feel that negative edge is more often a burden than anything else when you’re playing a game as slow as SF4. I have a natural timing in which I let go of a button, and every other fighting game ever seems to be fine with that timing, SF4 on the other hand, has me doing moves for buttons that im not pressing, and that I released seemingly forever ago.
Capcom needs to stop developing and testing their netcode in countries with good internet. The USA is one of the biggest consumers of their products, especially Street Fighter these days. Develop the netcode with shitty American internet speeds in mind. Make it run great for us, and it will run great for everyone else too.
Stop using colors and bars to indicate connection quality, use numbers only. If you feel so inclined, color the numbers.
for the love of fuck, stop making button checks so difficult. Just let players assign buttons like they can in 3s online edition
Stop listening to Capcom Unity for balance ideas
Dont design the game for casuals in mind, the dirty secret (ok, so its not so much a secret, but people stopped talking about it…) of SF4 is that the Ultra system, mashability, reliance on 1 frame links (that are easy to mess up, thus allowing mashed reversals) and loose reversal windows are there so that shitty players have a better chance against good ones. Everyone, even some players that I have the highest respect for, have lost to people who fucking suck and are just doing random stupid shit. This simply shouldnt happen. The better player should run over the worse player like a mac truck over a squirrel. The reason SF4 is popular is because it actually had marketing, 3s didnt.
In addition to that last bit, there should be a training mode that helps new players actually learn the game. Most new players think that being random is what SF is about because they never heard of any of the fighting game concepts such as zoning etc. The trials were terrible because most of the combos have no place in an actual match, and a lot depend on plinking, which as far as I can recall, Capcom never told anyone about, people just kind of figured it out.
Touching up a sprite to work in a different resolution is bad?
Also, comparing it to the pixel aspect sprite from the alpha is bad comparison as that isn’t how that sprite should be shown.
yknow what, i honestly dgaf. If MvC3 had played the exact same way it does now, but with the same sprites from MvC2 Id be willing to give it another chance.
and HDR hired Udon for the sprites. bad move there. bring on MvC2 sprites with ome smoothing filters, my body is ready

Darkstalkers 4! 1080P brand new hand drawn sprites…character designs by the most famous/best artist they can hire. Hand painted backgrounds with depth. Lots of excellent voicework. Vampire Savior 2 lifebar system, (so much better than rounds!). Grown up Anita and other new characters along with all of the old cast.
-
Inafune…offer him whatever he wants to come back and make new mega man games. Mega man got revitalized with MM9 and 10 and now to just kill off the series?
-
SSFIV AE 2013 balance patch, where bottomfeeders get buffed and top tiers get nerfed. Increase damage all around though, damage is generally too low.
-
A new ghost n goblins game…this is one of their best franchises and has been neglected for too long.
Fixed.
I’m a 2D animator and I love sprites too - but it’s never going to happen.
Even KOF XIII, which traced over 3D models in order to save time, STILL took forever and a half. SNK had to release KOFXII as a stop-gap because they couldn’t even finish making the artwork required for all the characters – and look how much love that game got.
The work involved is insane and Capcom no longer has the staff required to animate a full sprite-based game. Some of you have no concept of how much work it is.
So sadly, no. No sprites (at least not at KOFXIII levels). Not happening. Unless Capcom wins the lotto or management goes insane.
Capcom used to trace over hand drawn animation frames and use 3d prerenders. Also, they had to get said graphics work in 16x16 chunks and make said chunks to work like legos.
You really want to say it’s more work now?
