Lets try playing the game before passing judgement… Don’t be mad that MvC3 isn’t all that deep or balanced, its still fun to play.
I wasn’t rolling my eyes at AH3, it’s a very solid game, even if it isn’t my thing.
I’m rolling my eyes at anyone calling MVC3 unbalanced or not deep at this early in the game’s life. I don’t think anyone’s opinion on that game, other than that of maybe top players who have experienced what is high level play at this point, can be considered valid right now. I think we all need to wait another year or so before passing judgement on MVC3.
Anyways, I was thinking of maybe having some people over to play some MK on Thursday after I get out of class around noon. Let me know if anyone is interested.

What’s that I hear? Dustin providing the voice of reason? MvC3 is fun, beautiful, but incredcibly shallow. The only thing that gives this game any semblance of depth are the things like DHC glitches that weren’t even in there purposefully.
As for MK, I actually bought the madcatz Kombat panel… worked out pretty well.
I wont be able to make it up to Matt’s house I don’t think, but I think I can make it to Kyles’ later. My family is really short on cars this week and I wont be able to get mine back till later in the day.
I’m thinking about using a pad for MK but both of mine are pieces of garbage trigger button is messed up on one and the other one is in a constant state of moving right.
As for marvel. I sold mine to help pay for MK, so thats what I think about that, but watching it is still fun, for the time being…

if you’re using a stick, FP + FK = Throw and stance is worthless but its FK + BK. X-Ray is FK + BK + BLK
^yeah i know throw n stance buttons dont do anything, but you cant not map something (that i know of) so i put them anyways… i use xray by hitting the top two buttons
I work 2-10 on thursday T_T but I will probably head to Kyle’s afterwards. I want some MK in my life. I figured since I am not a mvc3 fan I want to try and be decent at MK instead.
HEY! Stance isn’t worthless! They use it for fatalities! YEESH! Seriously, MK is interesting… but I already see some clear god tiers and I don’t even have it. Oh yeah, in case any of you actually care about the story.

As far as being the voice of reason. I’ll play anything if it’s fun, but I reserve the right to bash anything I play. I love the vs. series. People saying Capcom did MvC3 wrong is right but for the wrong reasons. It’s actually far more balanced than any other vs. game they’ve done, and yet it’s still broken. In the end, it really is about preference but I require just a little more balance than a 3v3 game can provide. I’m holding my breath for SFxTekken but if it turns out the way I think it might, I won’t be disappointed. KoFXIII is sweet, but Raiden breaks that entire game. (seriously anyone can hold back for 16 seconds). Instead of bickering about what games better than the others (SF :), let’s just agree that we like games that require more time and dedication than most any other genre. The more the merrier I say. Who’s hype for Skull Girls? Me that’s who.

Except they did patch Raiden and K’ in KOFXIII. In arcades at least.
I also love MVC3, and find it balanced and deep (actually the depth hasn’t even begun to have been explored at this point.) Best thing about MVC3 is all of the new school players that started with SF4 that are used to being able to just toss out dp’s like candy at Halloween. Usually, that will get you punished for what…20%, 50% max in SF4 if your opponent has good defense and full meter? In MVC3, you play that stupid crap and I’m taking YOUR ENTIRE LIFE BAR BITCH!! And you better hope you didn’t call your assist like a dummy bc I’ll take 2 LIFE BARS! If anything it’s gonna teach new players to learn better defense, which in my opinion is the most important aspect of MVC3. That and meter management. But who am I kidding, most of these players are going to just whine WAHHH THIS GAME IS BROKEZZZZ and move on to the next popular game so they can find more excuses as to why they lose.
All that said, I still prefer slower paced 1v1 games like SF and now MK. Only team game that’s ever grabbed me was TVC(god rest it’s soul). But, I’ll still play any 2D fighter as long as it’s not completely busted. Teams or not.

I just couldn’t get good at MvC3 with how little I actually played it with anybody. (I dont DP like the pedophile on halloween or w/e but my defense just sucked ass and I call assists at the exact wrong time)
Skullgirls and KOFXIII are definitely lookin’ sweet, I think the ratio system that’s used for tournaments kinda fixes the whole K’ and Raiden thing anyways, especially if they get patched in the final version. Why put all your eggs in a basket (unless that basket is Jean Grey who hasn’t burnt XF)
Who alls goin to kyles tonight? Should I bring a set-up? Is there anybody who would let me crash up there for the night? I can leave whenever. If not it’s cool and I’ll you guys later.
