Ohhh I’d love to see Dr. Drew and friends talk about this on his pansy ass HLN show… I am sure Drew and the rest of the panel will be quick to point to other reasons why he did this, like “it may be the parents’ fault…they obviously did something wrong raising him” or “He might’ve played too much video games, and thus developed into being a socially, emotionally detached person” or “he may have been abused early in life and this was just him ‘lashing out’ at the world”, etc. etc. random fruity psychobabble, etc. Perhaps even the folks in Texas don’t want to admit that some people can be inherently evil as early as their teenage years…despite the best efforts of their parental figures.

He is obviously mentally ill, and I doubt in control of his own actions. The problem is the state cut funding for mental hospitals back in the 90s and began privatizing everything, and liberal courts generally didn’t allow the state to lock people up in mental hospitals anymore. That’s one of the major reasons you see more of these types of people around these days than you did a couple of decades ago.
I guess he will spend life behind bars instead of in a mental ward. He probably won’t really realize too much of a difference, especially since a good chunk of people in prison probably are also mentally ill. If not all of them.
@Zatalcon I see no point. This kid obviously doesn’t see the value in remore. I doubt the next 60 some odd years of incarceration are going to change that.
I say fry him and save Texas citizens the burden of his upkeep and the .001% chance of him escaping whatever supermax he ends up in.
Also the kid said there was a high likelihood that he would kill again if he were given the chance. Why even given him a sliver of a chance to do so? Sure if he kills a criminal of a similar mindset as him in prison, big whoop right? If he had a chance to kill an innocent again?
