Cannon Spike! The Cammy Thread

I would replace #3 in basic combos with crouch strong to crouch forward

oh and my favorite link is close standing fierce, crouch forward. I use this just as often

just about every combo on the list is practical

tournament again tomorrow… wish me luck. go cammy… and ahem akuma

Crouch jab does not combo into crouch strong.

i won the tournament (again)

oh and top of that… for whatever reason there was a cammy cosplayer there. And on top of my prize money I got a kiss from Cammy.

Cammy all the way (and some akuma cough)

Lmao

Sprint, yeah…you told me that before, huh? My bad.

Syxx, I think I’ll put the close fierce, crouch forward link in the “basic” section…since crouch strong, crouch forward pops up in so many other places. I was trying not to list just close fierce links there, but it looks like that’s the way it’ll have to go.

Thanks for the input, guys!

I use standing forward, crouch forward a lot also but that’s just a personal thing i guess. The reason for this is if I try to reversal throw with MK and just regular MK comes out I attempt to link it to crouch forward to get back to a good range, and it will even combo if the standing MK hits.

As i explained earlier in this thread regarding close fierce to crouch forward is one of her great wakeup tools because the priority that a properly timed close fierce has over wakeup reversals and reveral throws.

Frame advantage data. I calculated it a while ago because I find it a bit more useful than raw framedata, and thought I may as well share it.

Explanation:
[]STA: Startup.
[
]ADV: Advantage on block/hit.

 • If comboed into then subtract 1 from this value.
 • (The opponent recovers 1f faster after a combo (on block or hit) than after a single hit.)

MAX: Maximum frame advantage.
 • Either after a perfect meaty or if you hit with the very tip of a drill.

Moves with multiple hitting sprites are separated into rows as though they were different moves.

Other notes:
[]For a chain combo, the startup must be less than the frame advantage given by the previous move.
[
]Specials don’t come out and are replaced by normals if performed on the first frame after another move recovers.
[]Spike/Super recovery depends on how high you hit with it.
The different strength spikes have different trajectories and airtime, but they have the same recovery if they connect.
[
]This is for HDR, not classic, but I think the only differences in regard to the above are drill duration/recovery. Spike still recovers the same; it just lands closer to the opponent.
Edit: Whoops, misread backfist startup off my notes. Fixed.

Oh i figured out the vega matchup MUCH better now to lower the chance of wall dive randomness

Oh and I put up a few more vids in my channel of psn matches:

Cammy vs Bison

If anyone notices something I’m doing horribly wrong, hit me up!!!

I think the only thing you did wrong, Syxx, is use the Remix music. I much prefer the original soundtrack.

Seriously, though, your Cammy looks really good. I have almost no advice for you from what I saw. Really good matches, and Bison is actually not an easy fight for Cammy (though it is better in HD Remix). Good job, you’re representing Cammy better than anyone else right now, methinks.

 • James

OK thanks. Ya I think I got the match down. NKI’s no-slide, punish everything bison is tough!!! Oh and ya I forgot to change the music back, someone changed it at a recent tournament. I don’t like it either.

Won another tournament  But it was small. Next weekend is the one that matters. I’m gonna cap the whole thing too. Should be interesting.

Go! Go! Go! Go! Syxx rep-pre-ZENT-in’!!!

Hey i have a question, the crouch strong, standing far fierce, cannon drill combo… does it only work on certain characters? I can get it on dhalsim and sagat (not sure who else) but can’t get it on other characters. Is this how it’s supposed to be? And does doing the crouch strong as a meaty make it work against certain characters?

^^

AFAIK, crouch strong, stand fierce will combo on everyone, but the interruptable elbow frame of the stand fierce will not connect on smaller characters unless it’s meaty. Therefore, the above combo will only work with that same qualification…meaty crouch strong.

If I could just get some time to thoroughly test the bulk of the combos on my list. What I really need is a list of the characters’ standing and crouching hitboxes from narrow to wide. That would RRREEEEEEEEEEAAALLLYYYY help me. Of course, never mind the fact that some characters’ reeling animations make certain combos whiff, too.

ok i was just curious… i’ll keep trying because i know the combo is really good vs some characters, especially dhalsim

Yeah, it only works on certain characters. Dhalsim, Fei Long, Sagat, Zangief, T.Hawk… basically, fat characters. Otherwise, you have to use Crouch Strong, Low Forward on everyone else like Shotos and Chun and such. I don’t have an exact list of who it works on and who it doesn’t, but when I play, I usually only go for it against:

Guile, Sagat, Dhalsim, Fei Long

It works against these people, but if you are trying to Meaty them, you should probably reconsider:

Honda, Zangief, T.Hawk

I know it doesn’t work on:

Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Dee Jay, Vega, Akuma

And I can’t remember if it works on these guys or not:

Blanka, Cammy, Balrog, Bison

I’m pretty sure it works on Blanka, but he’s another one that’s really hard to actually land Meaty Attacks on for some reason. I never play Cammy mirror matches (outside of the one time we played online, Syxx), but I’m guessing it works on her, since Cammy is always wider than she actually should be, but I’m not 100%. Balrog is a character I rarely do meaties against, because his Reversal is so damn safe and powerful. And Bison, I actually don’t think it works, but I almost always go for Meaty Jump Attacks vs. him anyhow, since he can’t do anything about those.

P.S. How did you do at the tourney, Syxx?

^^

I’m going to have to do some testing when I can.

So I take it there’s no data on the order of character width for this game?

you did it on cammy

ok thanks it’s really gonna help my game to have a solid combo like that

The tournament is tomorrow… it’s really important that I win. I really want to be in that evo 5v5 so badly, which has been my goal in this game since they first brought up the idea, and if I can win this one it’s going to be a major step in that direction. I know everyone would love to see a character who was once thought to not really be tournament viable up on the big stage, and I think if I stick with it (not really interested in any other fighting games right now, including T6) I think I can do it.

I lost :frowning:

I won winners against rog but then lost vs ryu 3-0 then 3-2

next tournament is next weekend, and there’s one the weekend after that… and the weekend after that lol

Just make me more hungry

They capped all of the finals matches, but somehow winners got messed up but losers will be posted at some point

oh and evo 5v5 got canceled and replaced with crappy sf4

EDIT:

Winners Finals :

hehehehh I LOVE THE SF COMMUNITY!!!

Cammy wins another local  man it’s sad to see people giving up on this game already, i love it compared to sf4.
