Cannon Spike! The Cammy Thread

I play on a standard def tv in the videos but i’m usually playing on a dell 19" widescreen monitor with an hdmi to dvi cable. Neither way lags, and I know because I’ve played Tekken on both, and I would be able to tell right away if it was lagging.

If I missed someone covering this in a previous post, I am sorry. I did not see it anywhere…

I am having a hard time doing the spinning back-fist through any of ken’s projectiles (jp mp or fp). Each time, the back of the projectile will hit cammy and snap her out of the roll. I use the same timing (or at least it seems to me) on ryu and akuma, and she breezes right though that shit. Is there something I am missing about Ken’s fireball? It is really starting to piss me off, because Ken players (new to the game) will think Cammy can’t get through and just spam projectiles and I have to jump to close the gap between us.

Ken’s fireball is slower than both Ryu and Akuma’s fireballs. Its actually more similar to ChunLi’s kikoken but still faster than DJ’s Maxout. So your timing is off. You need to wait a split second later than Ryu/Akuma’s fireball but can’t wait too long like DJ’s Maxout. I don’t know if it make sense, try it out on train mode using CPU ken stay away from the CPU to force fireballs from CPU.

Assuming using the same strength for all projectiles:

Tiger Shots > Ryu/Akuma Hadoken, Guile’s Sonic boom, Sim’s Yoga fire > Ken’s fireball, Chun’s Kikoken > DJ’s Maxout

It sounds like you’re doing it too early to me. If you time it too late, though, the fireball can hit you in startup.

EDIT: Looks like you got to it before me.

If there were a Cammy Bible, this would be Book 1, Chapter 1, Verse 1.

Milo, that link’s dope! There are a couple terms that I didn’t know about, so thanks for it.

On topic, I hate how my HD Cammy can’t work like my CvS2 Cammy.

Also, does Cammy have a “dizzy combo”?

Her crossup bnb dizzies most of the time. That’s as close as ur gonna get. If they don’t get stunned, they’re one hit away from bieng stunned.:bluu:

I’m really surprised you didn’t find anything by doing a search for “dizzy combo” or “combo” on this thread. (You did do a search first, right?)

Anyway, I’ll post one combo that might dizzy…'cause nothing’s guaranteed to dizzy in the random world of ST.

Xup :lk:, cr.:mp:, cr.:mk: XX Cannon Drill (version is character dependant) or Spin Dive Smasher (that should be guaranteed on anyone, right?). (If it dizzies, it does at least more than 50% damage, so consider this a ToD.)

I can’t remember any others, so somebody do a search on this thread for the many combos that have already been posted. Thanks.

I can’t get Gief to dizzy with that combo. Vs all other chars, the xup lk combo dizzies.

I’ve been wanting to mess with crossup lk, c.hp, c.mk, drill to see if that works better, but you don’t get to crossup GEEF all that often.:bluu:

Lol, I’m trying to remember to search, but at work, I’m on and off SRK so much, I’ll just throw out a thought, then bounce.

Usually when I do that combo, it’s the “one hit away” scenario. Haven’t tried it with the SDS (props for explaining the timing on that, btw. I was doing it semi-consistently yesterday on my hour long lunch  ), so I’ll prolly try that within the next few days.

I don’t bother trying to cross Geef, I just poke…good idea?

I think I may have just remembered one that will dizzy 'Gief.

Replace the cr.:mk: with st.:hp:.

Xup.:lk:, cr.:mp:, st.:hp: XX Cannon Drill/Spin Dive Smasher.

Provided that the st.:hp: hits on the elbow frame and not the backfist frame, that’s a dizzy combo…and definitely a ToD. A Spin Dive Smasher on the end of that combo will do some serious damage. Jchensor mentioned how to buffer in that motion earlier in the thread. Search function…must use.

Hey! The Search function does work! :bgrin: Piano :hp: and any :k:.

More stuff on this combo from Masaka.

What the hell is up with you not being able to hit Ryu low during his hadoukens sometimes? THat shit is frustrating as hell!

I notice that too, then I used turbo speed 0 in training mode, I found out that a few frames during Hadoken, Ryu’s blue hit box is actually behind his actual body. So looks like u hit his body, but u actually whiff because his hit box is all the way behind him. This is bullshit IMHO because its another adv for Ryu.

Wow the older sprites were so much better. Cammy actually looks good.

go to training mode and look at his hitbox, simple as that.
