I remember reading some old news story [might have been fake] about how Namco acquired a license to make a fighting game based on Star Wars characters after they put them in as guest characters in SoulCalibur IV. Seeing as how the Star Wars characters played in that game, I am wondering why a entire game based on that concept didn’t come to fruition. You make a assload of money off of a game like that
That footage looked like ass. There I said it, except how everybody did in their head.

There needs to be a good Jedi/Sith fighting game, though.
I think a bullet was dodged with that one.

I do kind of wish that Namco would have have been able to produce a Star Wars fighting game based on the Soul Calibur engine. Though I wonder just how much variety in style they’d have been able to manage.
I don’t think variety would be a issue if you had fighters that aren’t purely lightsaber wielders.

Not sure if you should have mook type characters like a Tusken Raider, or characters that use a gun [Han Solo, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers], but I am sure they would find some way to make it work. You could even have Chewbacca or a wookie type character as a power type [reminds me of the original concept of Return Of The Jedi, which would have been too brutal to show…that is the Empire getting their ass kicked by a army of wookies…However, instead we got the Ewoks…]

That looked like it could have ALMOST been something but it’s just too rough.
Good effort but not something that many would enjoy, unfortunately.
After finally looking at the video, I must say that I am glad the game wasn’t released. The game looks too stiff and robotic
