Thanks, in the future we will be taking it into a heavier consideration when picking dates, but the venue has a business to run and has a very full calender. As I’ve stated before, not everyone has access to a means of traveling 2-3 hours for an event.
I do wish nothing but success to all who attend the other event and more than welcome anyone that wants to attend our event but by no means want people who have made prior plans to change them on our account.
Also we might be setting up an of tournament gathering as well and will extend an open invite to anyone interested. More details on that will be put up as they come together.
starcraft 2 will be PC
SSF4 will be 360
MVC3 will be 360
BB:CS will be 360
pokemon will be DS
once again apologies go out to those that are inconvenienced by our date change, but we can’t try ot please and/or accommodate everyone… that’s just asking for another disaster. We also don’t expect everyone out there to attend every single tournament in existence and acknowledge that life sometimes gets in the way.
We won’t be terribly offended over people not being able to show up but we will be ecstatic over the ones that do end up appearing.
in the near future (jut after our apr. 30th event) we should be starting up our regular Saturday gatherings and extend an invite to anyone and everyone.
I had no idea pokemon was a tournament level game???
I always thought of it as a Fisher Price RPG.
Not that I know shit, but wouldn’t there be a pokemon that is the best? I.E. everyone should be using the same pokemon at lvl. 50 or 99 or w/e maximum, at which point it comes down to coin flips of who attacks first.
Either way it seems out of place at a fighting game tournament. Maybe Barrie has a large pokemon scene though.
Some pokemon are considered “Uber” and aren’t allowed in certain levels of play, and you can only have one of one type of pokemon on your team. Its surprisingly more competitive than even I thought at first if you read up on it.
This tournament was already looking not-so-great due to conflicts with the date, with other tournaments running in the area same day. The lack of attention from out of town led us to think about canceling.
Now we have some issues to deal with with our venue and its operator, which is essentially the straw that broke the camel’s back. This tournament will be being postponed indefinately, when we have a more proper, stable, venue, and when we can work out a good date with the nearby communities as well.
Our track record may not look so great right now, but dont count us out.
