So in case it wasn’t obvious, Street Fighter IV is out. I’ll be hosting tournaments whenever my schedule permits starting tonight (Wednesday) at 10:00pm. Please be in #gtasf as a lobby and #gtasfPSN and #gtasfLIVE for the tournament lobbies. I’m going to assume both consoles will have no problems getting at least 8 players. I’ll still need a volunteer to run the live tournaments.
If you are already idling on MIRC, please go to the respective lobby you’d be joining tonight. It just makes my life a little bit easier.

I’m looking to start online Ranking Battles. We will have 8 sessions, run weekly on Sunday nights starting at 10:00pm. All Ranbats will be 2/3 falls, SINGLE ELIMINATION. The point is to get in and get out while still promoting a competitive atmosphere.
In order to be eligable to play in the RanBats you must first be in the lobby channel #gtasf on Efnet server and also the tournament lobby in either #gtasfPSN or #gtasfLIVE depending on the console you’re using. YOU CAN NOT ENTER BOTH RANBATS! If you don’t want to download MIRC or find the program too complicated then you can use the MIBBIT WEB CHAT CLIENT and simply pull down the drop down box for Efnet and put in the channel name and your alias. It’s about as dummy proof as it can get to use the MIRC client. The chat rooms are open 24/7 regardless and always have people in the main lobby so please feel free to drop into the channel and talk with other players.
Participants are restricted to Canada for the time being. We’d like to make a strong push for the Canadian scene. It also ensures a strong signal among the players. PLEASE NOTE that if you are on a wireless signal you are not eligable to play. They are inconsistent, create odd lag spikes and drop far more than hard lined signals. I’m sorry if you feel you’ve been punked out but I’ve noticed that wireless is more of a headache than its worth.
