While i agree that excessive labeling of gender and sexuality is silly, there is some use to some of it.
theres more than straight/gay/bi as well. demisexual tells you about what it is that works for them as they like to have a strong bond first. then there are heteroflexible people who, if they claimed to be bisexual would have to constantly explain that they aren’t interested in the same sex generally but are also bisexual. see how a new label is useful? bisexual isn’t enough to explain what a person is looking for.
