I didn’t mean “just” religion. I’m pretty sure there are many other reasons which you touched on, but a religious bond was one of the things I remember reading about.

because they’re a forward-thinking, advanced democracy in the middle east? think we should support places like that.

yeah by treating palestinians like how they got treated in germany. :coffee:

No country would dare target Israel, especially with them being such close allies to the US, and them having oh, I don’t know, the some of the most advanced weaponry in the world.

I don’t know what you just said. But I’ll take a swing.

“You live in San Diego[which is relevant how?], so you should understand that genocide is justified by political/economic gain.”

Have you guys ever heard of a place called Gaza? Just wondering. Do some research.

I’m sure the palestinians having children blowing themselves up on buses full of innocent civilians are completely innocent.

double post

Are you blind?

lol @ the predictably raging muslim response

Ahh Raziel321, the epitome of intelligent religious discussion on SRK.

This thread is now complete.

I’m not saying countries don’t want to target Israel. I’m saying, physically, it won’t happen any time soon.

Honestly, does anybody in here know what is actually going on in Gaza? Did you not read in the news not too long ago about people sending aid to Gaza being KILLED by the Israelis? Are you all that thick in the head?

Quoted for ignorance. Bolded for emphasis.

:facepalm:

It’s not complete until a mod locks it.

This has nothing to do with religion, I would love to see where I so much as even hinted towards that.

Lets play connect the dots.
America–genocide–richest country in the world–economic gain–political power–Mexican/American War–San Diego–Native Americans…any of this sinking in? I wasn’t implying financial gain justifies genocide (nice try bub), but lets face it, eliminating your opposition has proven to be resourcefully successful.

I’m pretty sure no one has heard of Gaza or what occurs there. Fill us in. :confused:

Many of the letters that form the name Isreal are also in America.

Which is why you know nothing about politics.

There are plenty of ways you can gain financially and politically from such a nation.

Hell you can even win morally if you play it right.

^_-;

I didn’t mean to accuse you of anything. I was just trying to understand what you were saying, I couldn’t tell if you were sarcastic or not. I totally agree with you, from a certain reference frame, acts such as genocide could lead to some sort of benefit. From, a, certain, reference, frame.

Well, the Gaza strip is a place where 1.5 million people are condensed. Only 10% of the water is safe to drink, and 80% of the country relies on foreign aid for survival. I don’t have all of the facts on the top of my head, but one of my good friends who grew up in Palestine (West Bank), I asked him if he had ever been to Gaza. He told me that he doesn’t want to die.

3 straight posts you act shocked that no one knows of the travesties happening in Gaza. A guy asks you to explain what’s happening there and your response is:

“1.5 million people live there, the water’s bad and some Palestinian guy I know told me he doesn’t wanna go there cuz he thinks he would die.”

Ok. Look, maybe “My friend says it’s bad” is all you need for other really religious people, but you’ll have to pardon the rest of us for not being completely sold.

^_-;

Isreal has been kidnapping and herding people into concentration camps? Damn!

Once again, I have no idea how religion worked its way into this discussion. I have not mentioned a single thing about it. My friend is Christian by the way, and is someone who grew up in the country of discussion.

And pardon me, for not barraging this thread with a wall of text regarding the history of all of the suffering and depression occurring in Gaza.

It’s really easy to quote someone and reword their post to make it appear trivial. In your not-so-humble douche baggery, you’ve forgotten that I’m bringing facts to the table.

Well, they’ve been more or less trying. The place goes by the name of “Gaza Strip”.

So far the only fact you’ve brought to this table regarding the horrors of Gaza is an anecdote. Since when have you been worried about putting up a wall of text?

I don’t see how pointing out the fact that your argument holds no merit has anything to do with being humble or a douchebag. If you’re going to reference something over and over, at least show that you know what’s going on there when asked. That’s all I’m saying.
