This is a collection of links that I have had for some time, and I have found personally useful in improving my game.
The BEST way I have found to use these links, is to reference the appropriate ones AFTER I get my butt kicked by a particular character.
That way I’m hungry to pick up specific things that will help me in that matchup.
An auto mix-up is when you input the commands for two (or more) different moves in IMMEDIATE sequence, so that your character will then execute whatever move is appropriate depending on what your opponent does.
So, does Cammy have a workable Auto Mix-Up in ST?
If she does, will it also work in Remix?
Here’s what I had written on my Cammy link webpage:
Cammy can input the commands for a throw and then a Thrust Kick, so that if the opponent blocks Cammy will execute the throw but if the opponent executes an unthrowable move then Cammy will execute a Thrust Kick.

But I’m not even sure that works (or with which precise commands), especially in Remix where her leap does not require an up forward direction.
So I was messing around with Cammy, and getting a Spinning Backfist (SBF) almost every time I tried the Hooligan Combination. Weird. Could Chen be right and I wrong? I makes no sense! :bgrin: So I fired up Kawaks and did the motion step by step, and only the Jab version would come out. I tried from the backwards direction, like ??? + P, and got a damn SBF! Damn!
I decided to try a walk-up Hooligan, no luck. Only the Jab version worked. Then I started testing all sorts of things. My first conclusion was that towards direction is not needed. The motion is ???, and if you can actually avoid towards, better: less chance of a SBF. But if I was moving, it would not come out, unless I released the button right away. Then, I checked ??? P. Not ??? + P, but pressing a punch button only after ? had been registered. Voila. It worked every time.
The results were ??? + P only works if you are standing still (any version) or if you use Jab. Else, if you walk up and accidentally input ? before ?, you need to use ??? P.
Same thing is valid for Fei Long’s Rekka kicks, whose command is ??? K.
Cammy’s hooligan motion is actually even more esoteric than that. If you start off a round, you can only do db,d,df,uf+P with LP. But once you perform db,d,df,uf,P one time (with any of the 3 punch strengths), then you can perform db,d,df,uf+P with any punch strength for the rest of that round. Next round, you have to repeat db,d,df,uf,P as a primer before you can execute db,d,df,uf+MP or db,d,df,uf+HP again. I wasn’t aware of movement affecting this property.
It’s sort of strange how this motion is technically identical to the one used for Fei Long’s dragon arc kick but the latter is always written as hcf,uf+K in all the official move lists. And the reason this motion is difficult is because you only have about a 3-frame motion between each input (half that of most other specials, and 360 motions are even more lenient) and ends in a jump. But having practiced for awhile now, it feels pretty natural to me now performing a hcf from one edge of the square gate to another.
I wrote about this to Damdai, but yeah, Cammy can Option Select/Auto Mix Up with her dragon punch. In HD Remix, she loses this because of the new Hooligan motion. In ST, you can input a Dragon Punch motion ending in forward and P~K to have the game either throw or DP for her in certain situations. The neat thing about this is that this also option selects her SUPER if she has full meter. I’ve tested it on Dictator. Dictator will either be thrown, Thrust Kick’d, or hit by super if done properly. Against characters with reversals that can defeat thrust kick, the OS isn’t too terribly useful.
