Even this doesnt work on some characters like Chun. After the crouching jab you get reset so its not that dangerous, but if you can train them to mash crouch tech, then you can land more cannon spikes
errr Ill just make this double post something constructive.
Does anyone know if any of Cammy’s jumping normals can beat a b.mp AA from Cody?
Lariat has a nerfed hitbox so U1 never get’s stuffed now. Only kick lariat can win, but only if he does it after you do GDS. So you can punish every Lariat after blocking it. But U2 might be better though.
I found out that U2 is definately great at detering Gief from block confirming his jab into SPD. I caught one off-guard last night and he didn’t try it again!
Nice.
I think I should start editing my list further up this board. http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=174983&p=8762531&viewfull=1#post8762531
CQC is definitely working in Cammy mirror matches. Currently I’m the #1 rated Dutch Cammy on PSN. *(Hey, we all need to get our kicks from somewhere. :-P) I played the #2 Dutch Cammy and CQC is what finished the 1st round in my favor. Never got to CQC in the second.
I’m also using CQC against Blanka now and it’s very effective too.
Just noticed something; Juri can be Hooligan grabbed out of her Ultra II if she does it on wakeup. Naturally this will only be useful on scrub Juris, but I thought I’d point it out anyway as we will all inevitable play one at some point in time.
Hehe. I had that happen to me too. Guess there are plenty of scrubs to go around. Juri, Ultra, wakeup. Grab.
well… ultra activation on wakeup can act as a punish (not a scrub tactics)…
to punish setups like:
forward throw -> mp hooligan
CS -> HP hooligan
Bison can ultra1 on wakeup and cammy will eat full ultra punishment… (so its risky against him)…
but yeah maybe that juri didnt know that she cant punish hooligan… just like Dhalsim… he cant ultra on wakeup against hooligan… but once they fall for it they will never try it again… reversal special instead…
Good to know, thanks dude I’ll make sure to remember that.
Also has anyone figured out how to punish Cody’s Criminal Upper on block? It tends to push Cammy away too far to use cr.mk > SA. Same goes for Juri’s pinewheel kick.
Spiral Arrow for every PK (you need to block Lk version low), and for every Criminal Upper except Lp Upper, that one is safe.
Really i had been trying the lk spiral arrow against a cody last night but he blocked it 99 percent of the time didnt think i could get it out any faster. Although i used ex hooligan a few times when the cody looked to throw rocks i could usually land behind him and throw him into the corner for some pressure.
Have you guys been testing SBF? I’ve tried it and it seems to work a lot better. Faster start up and hitting people now. I think they just don’t know how to deal with the move. I did it on their wakeup and it connects…
Against T.Hawk’s Dive… has anyone figured out anything to counter it? Right now, whatever I do, I get stuffed. CSpike trades sometimes. Is the only solution block and spiral arrow?
Standing rh beats it.
Kewl. I’ll test it out when I have the chance. So far I’ve been using that as a poke and whiffing it, and T Hawk then punishes with dive… So I guess i’ll wait til he’s diving before I start it up.
Just want to add a bit here. One reason why you’d want to do 2 tkCS in a row is if you’ve conditioned your opponent to think that you will throw right after the first one. In this case, the second can be delayed a bit to catch them trying to crouch tech or grab you outright.
If they always do try to poke after the first tkCS, then you might want to consider doing CS xx fadcb xx ultra, or CS xx fadc xx CS (if you still consider that worth the meter that is) instead of a second tkCS.
I just realized that the most damaging ways to land Gyro drive smasher have changed because the neckbreaker part takes more damage. The new order is:
- Clean Ultra 1. Does 480 damage
- After a Jumping roudhouse: total does 475 damage. (the window does seem tighter though. I can hardly pull it off)
- After a EXTKCS: total does 464 damage
- After a succesfull Focus attack. Total does 454 damage.
- After CS FADC : total does 364-334 damage.
It really pays to learn EX TKCS.
For Jumpin Roundhouse, I believe you just have to hit them deep. Usually, if they’re crouching (somehow) and you hit them with Roundhouse, it’ll work. I’ve gotten it to hit a Thawk by Jumping Back, Roundhouse on the way down, then Ultra.
I tried it a few more times. If I hit the opponent right in the face it works every time. Turns out it’s easy once you know it. I plan to really practice on landing Ultra after jumping roundhouse and EXTKCS. Should be especially effective against fireball spammers.
The timing is really lenient, you don’t even have to react quickly :bgrin:
This is true, which makes doing a ground Ex Cannon Strike a lot easier then a regular one. All you need is D, B, UB 2K’s to execute the move. If your not comfortable with this button press then just do a 360* motion backwards with 2kicks to make her use the move. Also, it may not work 100% of the time but you are able to cross up with Cannon spike [ lowkick ]. You must time it perfectly or it will be blocked or punished with a dragon punch.
