I think Poongko is the best Cammy right now. Any other notable players whose replays we can view?

Friends made a video with punishments against Rashid, what do you think?

I honestly find we’re giving too much credit to our opponents. As much as some around here like to discredit Poongko’s Cammy he’s still the only Cammy main that made her work in tournaments and he is the supposedly less ā€œlegitā€ one out there. I honestly feel like more footsie-oriented players like Cobelcog are doing well simply because they’re much much better than their average opponents and not even 10% because of the character.

Anyways, how good are you guys actually doing? I’m still stuck at around 3k points. I feel most of my losses happen when I just sit by and wait too patiently for my turn and most of my wins is when I disrespect the poor guy.

I made it to 4k (Gold) pretty swiftly. Handful of losses (not that I’m trying to brag, you did ask). Most of them to Nash and Karin. I haven’t played much ranked since I got Gold because the waiting gets boring.

Most often I lose when I lose my patience, spend too much time trying to whiff punish or stuff them rather than make my slow creep to the corner, or if the player has a superior neutral game.

I stoped playing rankeds until they fix the Ragequit issues.
I’m stuck at 3,5k right now.
Everyone with points ragequits, everyone without points doesn’t ragequit, I win 9 matches, lose 1 back to the beginning.
I wait for the fix and stay salty about the 1500 points that ragequitted on me.

SCREW YOU RANKEDS!!!

I was at 600lp not that long ago but now I’m at like 350 and I can’t win anything. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything differently, but now I can’t get anything to work. I can do most of the bnb combos except v trigger stuff, but I can never start any combos. What things do I need to work on to improve past where I am now? My fighter id is tbird111 if you want to watch me play

Learn to hit confirm, set the dummy’s guard to random and when you hit, try something like s.mp, c.mk or c.mp, c.mp. Your goal should be that if you get 2 clean hits [neither hit is blocked] with your normal attacks to go into spiral arrow. Also if your first hit is blocked, do the second hit but don’t cancel into spiral arrow.

This is called hit confirming, it’s using low risk normals to see if you hit the opponent and then cancelling into a more risky but higher damaging special move when you confirmed that you did indeed hit your opponent.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Do I always want to do attacks that combo like st.mp -> st.hp or does that not matter if the first hit is blocked? Also I’m assuming that for the specials I always want to combo into those

I understand that struggle. Without rage quits, I imagine I’d be sitting at 4.5k. From 2.6k to 4k, I lost maybe 5 or 6 matches. Probably had well over 10 rage quits, most of which were 4.5 to 5kLP players :\

I’m kinda at a point now though where I steam roll my opponent or they beat me pretty soundly. I’m having trouble finding the right people to play (I guess you could say Gold League to Super Gold League). I think I might hit up the other character forums and look for some opponents, particularly against characters who have been giving me the most trouble.

In the next day or two, I’m gonna post some replays of any closer sets I have (win or lose).

I came across about three of these type of posts this past week. I almost gave her up and kind of the game until Juri was going to come out. Those posts definitely encouraged me to just pony up and get better. I agree wholeheartedly she teaches you how to be solid regardless of who else you want to play. I feel like I am better at the game because I don’t have any gimmicks to rely on. Not really a new guy to fighting games but I was never good at SF (too many marvel habits) but because of her now I’m starting to get a grasp on proper gameplay (and the great amount of tech you guys provide)

She’s a great char to learn. And the pay off is huge if you can learn to keep up the momentum. She’s got really nice pressure and burst damage. But at the same time, you have to play her patient as she gets easily blown up if you make a mistake.

Fellow Cammy players, the community has started to fear Cammy after someone on Daigo’s stream put her in their top 3 list. It’s time to sandbag for a while - just until the focus shifts away from Cammy to another character, lool!

Jokes aside: Cammy is really good in this game, I swear. But she’s not autopilot. You have to play every matchup focusing on the MATCHUP. Knowing the spacing and punishes in every MU is vital. It wasn’t until I figured that out that I started to really body people online. (I know that’s nothing new, lol! But it’s not bad to just remind yourself to play the MU and just not play).

I play a few characters, I don’t think anyone is autopilot. Cammy definitely isn’t. You have to pay close attention to your opponents teching habits

With Japan putting Cammy in top 3, I am kind of curious, does anyone think she has bad matchups?

I’m convinced Cammy beats Chun cleanly. Not only because I play Chun but I know very skilled Chuns who agree. In fact Ricki Ortiz even thinks Cammy beats Chun.

In 4 she struggled vs Grapplers, but Gief in particular feels even. I can’t really identify a bad matchup at this time

Cammy doesn’t real struggle against Grapplers in IV, Zangief wasn’t bad until they buffed the living crap out of him in Ultra.
She still mauls T.Hawk extremly hard and Hakan struggles against her too,not to mentoi Abels problems with Divekicks.

People tend to say different things and I actually don’t see any bad MU’s for Cammy in V.

Could you back your statements with analysis ?

I am dumbfound on how you can think Cammy has advantage against Chun-Li. If you could tell us why she can so easily beat her it would help a lot of people.

it mostly comes down to her dive kick, if you are good at tk ex dive, then its very difficult for chun to aa it. add in the fact that cammys neutral is good, chun is likely to engage in a footsie battle only to get nailed (or block it, both situations are good) and then you can pressure

Chun’s TK legs are also not realy good against Cammy.
That Cammy has a f***ton of anti-airs and one of them can lead to 500 damage makes you think twice if you want to try this if your opponent can anti-air.
