The only problem I have, is what everyone else is having: Lag and shitty spawn. KDR is a friggin’ joke when the guy you just killed can spawn behind you and get an easy 50/100 pts. before his last corpse even hits the floor, why I find it mandatory to pack Claymore/ C4 since it actually deters some stuff behind me.
Only other issue I have is the shitty ass radar, it’s about 3-5 seconds off all the time and is highly unreliable, if these maps weren’t WaW style design (Entrances and mazes everywhere!) I wouldn’t have to use it, as is I just guesstimate.
Don’t worry about being 2-3 prestiges behind. The way people are leveling up that fast is by: 1. Play a fuck-ton and 2. Play Domination on Nuketown (constantly re-voting it).
As far as tips go. These might be obvious, but it’s what I’ve learned thus far:
Never sprint when coming up on a corner. Also, aim your sights at corners unless you like to hipfire.
Going prone while being shot is a viable tactic unless there are 2, or more, people.
Camping is fine, but only in certain places. Make sure your back is covered and you are not directly beside a corner.
Motion Sensors and Claymores are good for protecting your back unless the baddie is using Hacker/Hacker Pro, then you are just giving away your position. I have found that placing the Motion sensor/claymore in a spot near you works better then placing it directly where you are camping.
In certain areas, you can lay prone and be almost invisible to someone running around (especially on snow levels). Get one kill and then get up and move, because your ass is open.
Never walk in the middle of a map. Always walk around the perimeter. Lots of campers like to stay on the edge of the map and shoot unsuspecting people.
Ghost/Ghost Pro is awesome, but if you’re not going to run it then make sure to keep a rocket on hand to take out spy planes. You’re not just helping yourself, you’re helping the team.
If you’re using Hacker Pro, then do not shoot that Motion Sensor that the camper laid down…you’re just giving away your position.
Cook your grenades and toss them around a corner where campers tend to be. You might get a kill. Works with Grenade Launchers too.
When an RC-XD is coming either get to higher ground or, if it’s already at you, walk backwards and hipfire at it. It might still hurt you, but you shouldn’t die.
Wait for Spy Planes before using your Killstreaks (Napalm, Cobra, Mortar, etc.).

Since you are the resident Sniper expert, what set up do you use on a regular basis?
I was thinking Ghost/Hardened/Ninja, subbing Steady Aim or Hacker when needed. Gun wise I am pretty much hating the Dragunov, I dislike the Wa2000 so I am stuck with the bolt action right now (Which I prefer) until PSG1.
PSG1 licks just as much dick as the other semi-auto snipers, Bolt Action or bust. I love Scout Pro because of the increased weapon switching speed. Since you aren’t able to CoD4-style “quick scope” you’ll be needing to switch to your secondary in the event of anyone being close to you… and the added speed is nice. Just my $0.02
Anything is slower paced than Core mode. It’s just a shit storm of dudes throwing themselves into the fire followed up with horrible spawn system that puts people 5 feet from the action in less than a second.
Hardcore isn’t meant to be a shit storm, it’s meant to be so you can actually move around and use positioning that the map provides. Your deaths are slightly more meaningful. That and nubs can’t just run around sucking on the radar’s dick -_-
Different modes for different people, but straight up Core TDM/Domination are basically wars of attrition, not skill.
I already use decoys, didn’t know the dogs would attack them. Good shit.
What’s so great about that last bolt action sniper anyway? I hit a dude square in the chest the other night and it didn’t OHK so I don’t know where the love is comin from. I was doing better with the PSG1 tbh, Metal Gear that shit.
About the4 stick? They are stock buttons, if you kid on’em too hard they’ll wear down. It might be best to do the Walmart thing on the front page and just return SSF4.
It’s a OHK from the crotch up. All the semi-auto Snipers are only OHK’s from the chest up. I’ve gotten hit markers before too in this game on MW2. You REALLY need to place your shots though in this game the Scout perk helps but I use Hardened instead. I miss not having a Machine Pistol as a backup in this game =/
EDIT: Looking at the damage charts again and I noticed that the PSG1 has a random 1.1 damage multiplier on the crotch WTF?
