Calgary weekly Saturday SF event @ the cove

Seriously, what will happen after you lose tomorrow? You should starting thinking about it, because I ain’t going to give you a chance whatsoever!!! :karate:

Quoted from WWE superstar The Rock:

Just Bring It.

I’ve lost more than 100 bucks at casinos before… if I lose, then I lose. You gotta take a gamble sometimes. Since it’s long weekend, I could sure use some extra cash though.

You are right! you just bring the dollar bills, and I will come and take it.

Losing at the casino is only because of bad luck, but come tomorrow it will be because your luck runs out and my skill is superior!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! You just may have to stay home and practice up in the long weekend for a return match next time!!! :wow:

true, losing at casino is badluck. last night, 3 straight hands…me 20, dealer 21. motherfucking shit.

anyone still going today?

 that sucks! It is actually funny if you are watching that blackjack show on TV(game station or something) and see that happens, but it blows when it happens to yourself.

Anybody wants to place some side bets on my match with Byron this evening?

Byron is so going  and he precious Calgary Capcom Crown will come to me along with $100 cash!!!

Then, all is left is to beat Ray in mvc2… that may take centuries…

Results: Good games to Ian. Takes a lot of guts to go into a bet with 100 dollars on the line and that’s definitely admirable. The first 3 Capcom games were close, each going the full 5 games. It could have gone either way.

A3: I won this one with V-Sakura against Ian’s A-Chun. Score was 3-2 for me. I remember Ian took the 1st match pretty decisively and I thought to myself… uh oh, what have I gotten myself into. But then I started spamming standing roundhouse and v-ism supers and things eventually went my way.

3S: I won this one as well with SA2 Chun Li against Ian’s SA2 Makoto. Score was 3-2 for me. I remember one match where I was trying to chip Ian to death. Did the super, except it would come down to the last hit which Ian could parry. Ian missed the parry and I came out with the win.

CvS2: Ian took this one using A-groove Cammy/Rolento/Geese/Bison against my A-groove Mai/Sakura/Blanka. Score was 3-2 for Ian. Ian painted my fence twice I think. And I think my Mai missed my a-groove custom cause of that stupid flame pillar move.

MvC2: I took this one with Sentinel Cable CapCom against Ian’s Ironman, Sentinel, Cable, Psylocke. Score was 3-1 for me. Ian landed the infinite on my Sentinel and Cable in one match. That stuff is killer.

Anyhow, I needed the money for a new computer monitor. Mine lost it’s color so I’m staring at a 17 inch gameboy screen right now which is killing my eyes.

Ray was dominating MvC2. Beasting with Psylocke and catching quite a few breaks with her… the biggest one was against Shane. But oh well, I got my unblockable to land on Psylocke and killed that psycho biatch. LOL.

And Nelson was killing me in A3. Charlie is a Sakura killer.

Played against Long with some of the other 3rd strike characters. I got killed.

Congrats to Garett for successfully defending the CvS2 crown against Byron V. And congrats to Byron V for breaking the CvS2 fierce punch button.

ummm… yeah… ggxx isn’t my game… and i should learn V-ism, cause that shit is crazy… and shoshosho

Is Brampton Byron still playing CvS2? I haven’t seen him on MSN in weeks and I wanted to know if his skills are staying sharp.

He is still playing cvs2… He is getting better in my opinion with his A-groove, but his K-groove is getting rusty. The reason for that according to him is that he has been training with a scrub… hmmm… I wonder who he is referring to???

Good game there, my friend. I don’t recall the last time that I was actually playing a fighting game, and had to concentrate so much that I couldn’t talk to anyone in the process.

3rd strike was diappointing from my perspective, it would have been a tie score at the very end without that last parry incident.

I also have never depended on Psylocke so much with the ironman infinite, but it is so difficult to catch a flying backward sentinel or jumping back cable. I couldn’t believe that you let me guard-break you with Ironman that round, I was prepared for your push-block.

cvs2 was intense to say the least. Me doing the perfect painting the wall was just pure luck. I was more shock than anyone else, but lately it seems to be working quite consistently… maybe it is the joysticks being in good condition. until Byron.V killed the button!!! :wow:

Keep away in any fighting games just throw me off the game so much… Still can’t understand how you guys can do that so well… but still Andrew = best turtle player of all time, or some may say worse… HAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, the Tekken5 tournament was a huge success!!! Special thanks to Erim, Jimmy, and Steve for helping out with that  , or else it would have been a mess under my hands.

I will have the complete results posted later, but in summary:
24 participants… that’s a record.*
1st. Brett(representing H-town)- Steve, Bryan
2nd. Terry- Paul
3rd. Shane(H-town)- Law

Garett successfully defended his cvs2 title against Byron.V, which to be honest suprised me very much. Next week mini cvs2 tourney to determine the #1 contender for Garett’s title.

The newly crowned GGXX Calgary champion is Kevin Chau, it was determined under round robin rule. BTW, Kevin was undefeated throughout the round robin.

3rd strike championship is moved to next week for a variety of reasons, but it will be done first thing this coming week.

The mvc2 championship match between Ray and Ian will be next week as well.

If you bought any of Ian.inc’s stock during the Ian vs Byron fight… Don’t worry about it as I have already taken care of it. Just remember, Ian. Inc’s stock will only go up… HAHAHAHA :lame:

do u guys have devil jin over there?

Give it another week or so… we just recently had the second set of time released characters.

i saw ppl parry urien’s unblockables. this game is done. i’m not worthy.

Don’t give up, man!!! It wasn’t like those guys could parry that shit right from the start… it takes small steps at a time to get to that level. If you want an example, just look at Ray in his mvc2 path… he was a scrub big time, and now nobody in Calgary can own him any more. Let’s not talk about how much money he put into that machine though! :wow:

booo :stuck_out_tongue:

Saturday feb26th,2005

This Saturday we will crown the 3rd strike Calgary Champion…

Along with that, we will have a mini cvs2 tournament to determine who will challenge Garett for his championship. That guy is on a roll to say the least.

Ray is going  in mvc2 as he will defend against none other than me in a no super top tier match. According to him, he will be using Doom/Blackheart/cammy against my dhalism/ironman/psylocke… can anyone spell “cheapness” from Ray’s team???

Alpha3 has been drawing quite a crowd, so soon we will have something going on there as well… hopefully they will put the Alpha3 machine beside the cvs2 machine instead of the punching bag game.

GGXX… what do you guys want from that game… let me know.

Tekken5 has had 2 tournaments in recent weeks, so we will have a casual play night for everyone to collect some points/money… OR GAIN A PROMOTION INSTEAD OF A DEMOTION WHICH I had because of Brett last week !!! I am going to beat you so bad in Tekken5 and take you down back to the lowest ranking possible!!!

?, always wondered if i can type chinese here…i guess it’s possible…

a general question…how good is BH/sent/doom? and what’s the optimized order? and do i still get to fight ray in a non title match?

i like a3 where it is, nice and quiet :pleased:

BH/sent/doom is super top tier back in the trap team days. That team order doesn’t matter at all, it all depends on which trap you want to do first… or just keep sentinel second so you can change character by doing super after super.

Yes, you get a title match after the match between Ray and me.

Mark,

Those guys at the cove already thought about moving it, so it is hard to say what they will do about the positioning of Alpha3. Plus there are so many of us in that hall-way on Saturdays, nobody could get through. :wow:
