my keys are attached to my bnet account now so i can’t even let you use mine anymore lol
going back to play the campaign is pretty tempting after talking about it last night
SNK grapplers usually encompass the fundamentals of SNK fighters. They have really good normals to approach, good mobility due to in-game system mechanics, and have the ability to combo into their command grabs. Whether they have good oki after wards is dependent on the character but they’re usually oppressive characters. Comboing into their command grab is not the primary goal of their offense and they still carry the same grappler mentality with stuff like tick into command grab and command grab set ups. They still struggle vs zoning characters but it’s nowhere near as bad as grapplers in other fighting games.
In KoFXIII for consoles, Clark’s considered a grappler and he had two variations on his command grab. One was fairly quick while the other was slow but had armor on it. Clark didn’t deal great damage but the mind games he could play were brutal. You had options like tick command grab, or tick into command grab with the armor on it which beats mashing and some reversal DPs. Post command grab he had a vortex-esque game utilizing the system mechanics like dash roll then play RPS.
Even female grapplers in older KoF’s were quite interesting because they weren’t limited by the traditional standards of the archetype. It might not be up your alley since it sounds like you want the traditional grappler archetype.
Daigo practicing with Yun. i guess Daigo wants that big payday. perhaps he’s going to start counter-picking for once? after all, 1st place gets at least $120k at this years Capcom Cup. with that much money on the line, you can bet other people will be counter-picking against E.Ryu so Daigo would be foolish not to prepare for that.
what is a bad matchup for eryu?.. i guess people say he loses to good sims, so yun would counter that counter i guess? but i can’t see him pulling yun out over e.ryu all that often
yuns actually a really good pick against most of e. ryus bad mu. he shits over sim and claw and does really well against the rest. doubt there is going to be someone it with a counter to e. ryu outside of sim anywhoo
I dunno, it seems “SNK grapplers” are called that for a reason and wouldn’t work very well in a game like Street Fighter.
The way I see it SF grapplers are like walking tanks. There’s something about them that appeals to me, I can’t really articulate it very well. Something about being rewarded for patience? Taking advantage of the fact that my opponent’s scared of getting close? I don’t know how much of it carries over to SNK grapplers. It sounds like they’re more suited to a rushdown game due to the nature of KOF, which I don’t think is for me.
Game will die just as fast as injustice did anyway, non capcom FGs have the capability of staying relevant like a wet paper bag has the ability to hold a 50 pound weight. or in my case, my ability to hold a 50 pound weight. zing, i’m weak irl
I dunno why you list any of those qualities as what you like about grapplers PJ when your whole strategy was to whiff a move in someone’s face and hope they didn’t punish it before your mashed grab came out
