Daigo is always the favorite to win but he just ends up under performing but definitely longer sets favor him. I think the players that could beat Daigo at master series is Xian, Louffy, and Kazunoko. Daigo has always struggled with the Dhalshim match up and I’m not sure if he did his home work after Capcom Cup but it’s quite possible that Xian could beat Daigo with Dhalsim again. Let’s not forget that patch 1.04 puts Evil Ryu back to 900 health instead of 950 so he has less life to play around with during those matches. We haven’t seen Daigo vs Louffy as well and I’m not sure how this match up would work out. I think it depends on how much home work both players have done against each other. You can’t really play the fireball war against Rose and that’s one of Daigo’s strong suites. He could switch to a more offense oriented style as he’s been doing lately but Rose can control that type of offense, imo. Pepeday is the wild card of the whole thing and he’s beaten Daigo before. A longer set definitely favors Daigo to get use to the quirkiness of the character and player habits though. You definitely can’t count out Kazunoko especially with how much stronger Yun got in USF4.

actually i think daigo vs luffy is the match i’m most interested to watch, with daigo vs xian the next most interesting (especially if xian decides to counterpick)
actually, CCG guys, do you have rules on how often you can counterpick? topanga has a rule that you can only change characters once every 3 games (and only the loser of the previous mini-FT2 is allowed to switch). are you adopting that rule? or are you going to allow the loser to change character at any time?

Hard to argue with a lot of their points… Particularly Mike’s. Ultradavid isn’t enjoying Xrd that much for the same reason I can’t… no character I can find that I enjoy. He even said “why play Potemkin when Bane is a way more interesting grappler” which is exactly how I feel… (and also that ridiculous break tech you have to master off of 6k). Why no Jam :(.

Masters series has no character rule outside of the normal you-win-you-keep-playing-it rule. Things may still change… but not right now.
