ASW/Pachi pretty much did a random job balancing BBCPE/2; kinda just shaked things up for the sake of it.
Players like Galileo gave up on the game since his character got nerfed… to high tier.

Regarding the Evo line up discussion.
SF4, UMvC3, MKX, KI, GGXrd, P4U2/UNIEL, Smash4, and Melee are my predictions.
KoFXIII is dead outside of it’s dedicated players and even then the number of entrants have been on a steady decline since the first year of the games release. It’s still one of my favorite current gen fighters but steam version failing to deliver on good net code, high execution requirements, and skill gap with veteran players hurt the game from becoming main stream.
I don’t think BBCP is going to be included in this year’s Evo since it’s still quite some time before we received the latest version. From what I read on twitter at the time of the patch’s release a lot of the Japanese players hated the re-balance. The player base has shrunk considerably and it’s pretty much just down to the dedicated players. Last I heard Galileo had switched to Tekken Tag 2.
UNIEL wasn’t super popular in Japan to begin with due to the initial version of the game being incredibly broken. The new patch has helped it considerably but that version of the game was out in Japan for at least 2 years now. The console release gave a huge surge of popularity within North America and still gets good turn outs at NA majors despite not having an official NA release yet. It’s quite possible that the NA release might revitalize the scene for the game and get new players but I’m not sure if the player numbers will still be there when Evo comes around especially with Xrd gaining momentum.
The reason I’m picking P4U2 is that the Japanese have been making some buzz about wanting the game at Evo. There’s definitely a bunch of JP players wanting to go to Evo if P4U2 gets announced in the line up.
I fully expect a TTT2 side tournament and various anime fighters that didn’t make the main line up to get a side tournament and get streamed at Mad Catz booth like at various Mad Catz events and Evo last year.

Escaflowne is 26 episodes and an original movie that’s an alternate telling to the story. Easily one of the best fantasy animes of all time and a personal favorite of mine.
Peter you have some pretty solid choices in anime with Escaflowne, Hikaru no Go, and Junni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms.

yep I enjoyed the hell out of the few episodes they aired(seriously does anyone else remember how bad the reruns for this show were? it was on once a week and you’d see the same 2 or 3 episodes for months)
