It’s never going to be a hit confirm like every other 2D fighter. Based on what I read in that TYM thread you still have to dial a string but certain strings allow you to confirm after wards. Most strings were leaving characters at neutral or slightly negative so at least it’s not a full commitment on a string that’s going to leave you punishable after wards if blocked.
I’m a bit weary on believing all of the leaked information because you’re not sure if there’s going to be a day 1 patch that changes the information that players are providing. While it’s probably a good bet that the information will remain intact after the official release there’s still a possibility of a post launch patch.
Yeah, Tekken strings are still a big thing. Apparently they completely changed how jump ins work (awesome!).
I was more saying the general consensus seems to be neutral/footsies seems to be the biggest part of the game right now (vs Mk9’s either abusive zoning or broken rush down)

yup. I’m starting to really “get” the game (I eat black knights for breakfast now) at SL27. I like how the game gives you 0 idea of where to go or what to do other than the extremely vague “ring the two bells”
at first I thought I would try the graveyard route again since I was stronger, but nope
then I found the darkroot…then I found the LOWER entrance to darkroot(with the icicle guys) and yeah this game is ridiculously sick as fuck
I should have listened when falken told me this was one of the best games he’s ever played
