As Pimple I could decapitate like five rats with a single anvil smash (which by the way made me holler out loud the first time I did it). His hitboxes are huge and I have the most fun playing with him. All the toads play differently than each other in this one.

It’s really amazing. Particularly:
[details=Spoiler]Climbing up the snow-covered mountain at the very end with an online partner, and both of you just dying. It’s actually genuinely emotional. And then being revived and flying around (with the same partner), and then walking towards the light at the end of the game with your partner.
The partner I was playing with was 3 or 4 steps ahead of me walking towards the end of the game, and he stopped and turned around and waited for me to catch up so we could finish the game together. Hard to believe something as simple as that can impact you so emotionally.[/details]
I was also really impressed with the graphics, like

the sliding parts were so cool, and how they made that part in the middle of the game look underwater, when all they did was change the physics of the cloth and the lighting of the level
Play Fez next! It’s probably tied with Journey for GOTY for me last year. Might give the edge to Journey but Fez is right up there.

moving from the HUGE OPEN AREA where you’re skating on the sand to the really confined, slower paced blue-hued underground was really cool. great use of colour. the camera edges even vignette a little bit to make it feel even more enclosed.

You should find a way to connect online and play it all the way through again, seriously. It’s more impactful if you’d done it this way from the start but it’s still really key to the Journey experience imo. Game is still great offline but something seeing another person walk around in the world with you, knowing they’re experiencing the same things, and seeing how they interact with you is awesome.
