i choose not to use adblock because i believe in game journalism. gamers are a niche of pc users that are savvy enough to use adblock, there are probably more gamers using it than not using it, but the current problem is that game journalism websites can’t generate enough revenue (unless they use kotaku’s bullshit formula of ‘journalism’), largely because of the prevalence of adblock, so there’s far less incentive for people to spend their time producing actual quality work. i think it is exceedingly hypocritical to want all these wonderful things for the future of the fgc, or whatever esport you’re into, and then turn around and use adblock to directly fuck with one of the only means of revenue that exists for this medium. i’m aware you can whitelist websites you want to support or whatever, i’m just against it on principle

i am using chrome, tho. i just wish i could figure out where the fuck the ads are coming from. i thought they were coming from embedded youtube videos but there aren’t any on this page

I don’t feel bad for adblocking SRK, like, one bit. Their ads are some of the most intrusive I’ve ever seen, and even with adblock on, I still get that stupid “complex games” bar at the bottom, so I know I’m feeding their ad revenue anyway.

If you are against Adblock on the large majority of websites, then just download Adblock, go “disable everywhere”, and then add SRK to the enable list.

Ads are one thing, embedded video or audio ads is where I draw the line. I have bandwidth concerns, and I’m listening to music when I’m browsing. Your ads do NOT get to take over those things.

I play SF4, and and a bit of Marvel. I’d like to be decent at Marvel, but the passion isn’t as big as SF. But Like I said, I’d definitely like to be more than free at Marvel. Could woop some old adversaries that way. :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to get better at Injustice… that game is so ridiculous, but I feel I’m losing just because I don’t know matchups or how to block shit most of the time. It primarily seems like a zoning game, almost like old-school SF, and I think I can handle that shit.

I’ll have to get the game again though, since all my discs disappeared out of my suitcase on the way back from china. No joke, ALL my games are gone.

I also want to learn some different shit in marvel, just to spice things up, like strider maybe or a not-shitty strange. Basically get a new anchor and actually learn how to use them instead of depending on my first two guys. Ideally I would rock the theory Viper/MODOK/etc, but that seems like wayyyyyyyy too much work. In the end I still think Marvel is ass, but best training mode game ever tho.

Injustice is kinda like Marvel without assists… whoever has the best bullshit wins. Game is all match-up knowledge now. But every character is capable of their own bullshit, so the game is ridiculously balanced at the moment… (Theo still thinks Joker could be hidden top 10, because if he does manage to knock you down, you’re almost certainly losing an entire health bar).

I’d love to be able to play with people more at Dicken’s/my place/whatever. The tourney was crazy fun (But fuck Shazam).

Sorry for making grand finals looks like poo… I’m picking up Martian now just to deal with Bane’s bad matches.
