all this talk of speedrunning has gotten me thinking what games i know wel enough to be able to blast through them. i wonder how quickly i could get through the original resident evil in… i played the shit out of that game on the saturn mustve finished it about 20 odd times. only ever tried to speedrun the remake on gamecube though. bet theres loads of tricks on that one you can use to shave off precious seconds.
i only have the DS version to practice on atm though. unless i download the PC version or something.
Check out the SDA runs. I’m pretty sure the run is faster on the original version of the game, but there are some cool bits to the Remake run.
I could probably do a respectable speed run of a Mega Man game. Most likely 7 or X4, since those are the ones I’m the most familiar with at the moment.
Time to put out my old PS3 and start practicing MGS4 The Boss Extreme for Big Boss Emblem. I think the game is not too long + Emblem is an additional challenge for more hype (probably can finish within an hour and a half without any mistake). I don’t think I’m the one fit for speedrunning in general tho; I’m more of a gamer who likes to see 100% completion or to beat the game with extreme difficulty no matter the time limit.
