i hope wolf pack LAB smashes all you goons and then they just silently get up like it was nothing, like tomorrow is just another day, and then they leave just to smoke a fat blunt, then go the strip joint for lap dances, make it rain money, pop champagne, golden AK-47 and LAB will simply acknowledge that edmonton lost and they’re the best by just winking without saying a word.
I’ve been toying around with Evil Ryu, I think he’s quirky enough to hold my interest (not dominating but gimmicky lol)
I’m really quite amazed though at the difference between him and regular Ryu! Evil Ryu has all these extra moves and juggles and combos and stuff, but it doesn’t really matter at all because he doesn’t have regular Ryu’s low MK/HK. Not having those two moves alone (or hell, just the low MK) makes him half the shoto that regular Ryu is IMO.
The lack of super FB matters too, as does the lower health, I’ll admit… but it’s not even close to comparable to the loss of those low kicks I don’t think.
I guess it just serves as another example of how godlike those kicks are!
yeah evil ryu can’t combo into anything meaningful on anyone who is crouching either, at least without being right next to them, or spending a bunch of bar.
his selling point is hitting someone with a divekick / j. mk and doing 400 damage for no meter
then you can save your meter to do FADC’s or EX Hadou’s (which DONT KNOCK DOWN)
he’s got crazy combos but yeah no c. mp c. mp c. hk is bad
however i disagree with you on the c. mk - while evil ryu’s is slower in terms of start up and recovery the plus side is that the hadoukens nearly always combo off of any range c. mk, whereas with ryu even with c. mk counter hit ex hadou’s he won’t get them to hit
i think both are pretty fun to play, i’ve hit my fair share of ppl with kara f+mp demon
Evil Ryu gets a LOT more off a hit-confirm low forward fireball (which pretty much always combos). cr.MK doesn’t quite have the startup of Ryu’s, but it’s got the range and it’s only slightly slower. Ryu gets far less off his cr.MK (even though he hits it more often), so it evens out more or less? Low forward fireball FADC cr.HP xx MK axe kick pretty much always works if you just hit someone walking into low forward (works on crouching and standing opponents), and you basically build a bar back doing the followup combo. You can also corner carry from mid screen for two extra bars if you choose.
The lack of a super fireball isn’t as big of a deal, because you can spend all that bar doing a combo that does as much as any hit confirm Ryu can do into super (except off anti-air DP). And if you feel like having a 0 frame super grab at any point during your pressure, it can be helpful too.
That reminds me… Mike M, I need to get that replay of me unblockable-ing that Guile with ERyu off your hard drive! I want to save it on mine, lol. Can we just start up one of those replay lobby things and watch it sometime? Then I can save it.
And while I’m at it, I’m gonna ask again… anybody with 3rd Strike Online willing to help me get the last achievement?? I just have to watch a replay with someone on my friend’s list. Should take like 2 minutes.
